Tyrone All-Ireland winner Conor McKenna has signed a two-year contract extension with Brisbane Lions, keeping him at the AFL club until the end of 2028.

The 30-year-old has enjoyed remarkable success in Australia, winning three consecutive AFL Premierships with Brisbane in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

McKenna previously played for Essendon before returning to Ireland in 2020, helping Tyrone win the Sam Maguire Cup in 2021 before heading back Down Under the following year.

The versatile defender has become an important member of the Brisbane squad, and his new deal will see him continue his AFL career as the Lions look to extend their period of dominance.

Meanwhile, former Dublin ladies star Jennifer Dunne, a three-time All-Ireland winner with the capital women, has extended her stay with the Lions, which will see her playing in the AFLW again next year.
