I have no problem with your sarcasm but running 3 games one after the other is asking a lot from stewards to give up their time to cover all of them. Also from experience most of the supporters following their own club just don't wait to see the next game and the end result is traffic congestion and chaos and people wanting out of the park. For the three matches you are talking about six hours or more. I am not making excuses and I am sure that some ideas are very good maybe worth having a chat with the county board." Rich talking about sarcasm when I ask why don't they have the 3 Sunday games in a row and your reply is join club breffni!!!! If every there was a case of Pot calling kettle black, that's the one. Stick up for the Illuminati with that one. Also are the stewards the same stewards for the first 2 games as the evening game? If so then they'd rather stay on and get the other one over. If not then there is a simple switch over.

The reply was in relation to the weekend not just Sunday if you were to come to the park five weekends on the trot with six matches you would cover your club breiffni this would cover you even for the U21 championship right up to the end of December and longer. I am a club breiffni member and it's good value to be honest but it's everyones choice how they wish to do things. You know the County Board have to pay back all the money borrowed for the development of the county pitch and a lot more beside as it does not run on fresh air. It would be fantastic if this were not the case but sadly it's how it is.

Can you explain to me how Club Breffni is good value to the ordinary Cavan supporter. If we take it a number of matches over the weekend are not accessible due to supporting ones own club clashing with other games. So we know there is 4 round robin games in the senior. Typical supporter would go to those if they were lucky get another match in over the weekend that's 8 games. Then 1/4's come along get to 2 of those. Then manage to get to both semi finals and the final regardless if there team makes it or not. That's 13 matches in total. Plus that is a lot of football with out having any instances were everyday life doesn't get in the way of going seeing your own team. How much is club Breffni?? and we divide that by 13 games to get a cost per match. Weekend passes would be excellent 20euros gets you into any game in any pitch on a particular weekend. Excellent value. Increased attendances more goodwill about the place.

If you read the whole topic from the prices was mentioned you will understand why I said Club Breiffni and on those terms it's great value for money for right up to the 22nd of December there are matches. Out from league matches that are belonging to clubs I think the pass covers you along with supporting the county team going forward.

In monaghan and majority of counties I believe only two or 3 don't offer the following club + tickets which are bought at time of getting county season ticket.
For 200e you get admission to All national league games Entry to first county championship game Guaranteed ticket to all other county championship games. Entry to all club championship games.
Now that is 200e well spent and it's a shame that it won't be brought into cavan as it's a better deal than rip off club breffini.

I will not stick up for the county board if they don't deserve it. Yes I know about green grass I am the caretaker groundsman after all. 15000 at one match or two matches but nothing following and no one wishes to leave as they have come to watch the main match. With the three matches as I stated most don't want to stay and watch the second match here lay's the problem. If you knew me you would know I am not a yes man and I don't stick up for the county board at all costs. Some will let you know what type person I am. I am a John Wrenne man with my own opinions.

Anyway getting back to the action this weekend & there are some extremely interesting games. Hopefully players that haven't been involved with the county setup either this year or the past few can stand up as possibilities to improve the county team & give management more options. Also hopefully Mattie or his management team are in attendance at every game either senior, intermediate or junior to observe any such potential. Anyway for what it's worth this is my predictions for the senior championship this weekend; Ramor- Cuchullains- even though I believe barkey out injured with collar bone I have to let my head rule my heart & say ramor Gaels - lacken - Gaels seem to have the edge that was missing for last few years back & putting up big scores. Lacken are a big physical team & never fear the Gaels beating them in the championship last year but momentum with the Gaels Lavey-cootehill- again neither in great form & Lavey haven't pushed on yet from reaching semi final last year going by there league results. They will require a huge performance from Gerry smith to win this as I think cootehill's experience of playing div 1 will be decisive Castlerahan-arva - huge year for Castlerahan as they can only be the nearly men for so long. Personally I don't think they have the ruthlessness to finish the job but maybe Keogan & Forde will change there mindset. Arva's first year back in senior & huge achievement by the players & club. Arva won the recent league game but I think Castlerahan will win by 6/7 Pts Kingscourt-mullahoran- huge fall for the dreadnoughts in a very short timeframe. Giving the points to the Gaels last weekend would surely have had bodies turning in graves. Kingscourt going well again & should win by 7/8 + Killygarry-Gowna- could be one of the closest games of the weekend. Gowna with div 1 experience against top of the table div 2 Killygarry. Probably depends on who has the biggest influence Martin Reilly or Conor madden but Killygarry by 2 Crosserlough- ballinagh- crosserlough rebuilding there team & will be few years until really competing. Ballinagh likely depending on the draw to reach semi finals & have excellent scoring potential. Ballinagh by 6

I think the whole logic of the points made above is that people are more likely to go in to multiple games if there is a deal! And they should be enticed, not met with rate card for everything!!
Its like buying something in a shop - 3 for 2, for example. This is a marketing ploy used across multiple businesses all over the world to great effect. Why? Because it works and it makes people come back. Now if our wonderful county board would take a look at that and also their remit and mandate then they should take it seriously.
25 Euro for a weekend ticket makes perfect sense to me. Do people really think that offering nothing will help attendances? Loyal fans should be looked after. The county board have a responsibility to promote and grow the game and interest levels in the county on an ongoing basis. Start looking after loyal fans a bit better and 'hey presto' you have a happy fan base speaking well about the set up! Maybe that will attract others to join!!

I expect any work that was done to develop your county ground had to be paid for. I expect the 3G and the ground that it's on has to be paid for. I suppose the running of the county teams has to be paid for. If you had McManus he would be a huge asset to the county set up but sadly you don't so all these bills accumulate and have to be paid for. I know the clubs have to support the county in paying all these bills as well. Common sense will tell you off course fresh air will not pay for the upkeep of what you have so hence the reason why there are things called turnstiles to take in badly needed money to pay for all the above and I suppose more.

SeanORinn - what about the €50,000 paid for the GPS tracking system last year? Was that really needed?
Where did the jailbreak money go to? grants from HQ.....how much are we paying the Manager, selectors, strength & conditioning coach?
And oddly enough...none of the above mentioned payments were published in the treasurers report at the last AGM.
I dont think the stewards would have any issues doing three matches...they get well looked after.
As for you paying €500 to Club Breffni...why, when you get in free to Breffni Park, and when was the last time you went to see a match in any other venue in Cavan?
As for the the €7 per game...have you seen the state of club football in Cavan!
