seanorinn...I was at the Gaels game and the score certainly didn't flatter them, they were the best team from start to finish, without hitting any of the higher gears. I would suggest that before posting any further comments on upcoming games, you should actually attend some games....using your free Club Breifne membership off course!

Just a thought...if your'e wondering what it wrong about the club scene in Cavan.....How is it that a Division Two Team can comfortably dispose of two Division One Teams in the Senior Championship? cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 636 - 08/08/2017 10:55:01 2030860 Link 0 |
Because for years only one team went down each year so a poor team could stay senior for years. There's some division 2 teams that were division 1 last year. Football is cyclical. A couple of injuries or retirements and a team can be in trouble from a previously strong position. Look at Mullahoran who are yet to win a game all year. A rise or fall can happen very quickly. No transfer system to replace quality unless you're Castlerahan or Cavan Gaels.

Sean o rinn has a chip on his shoulder with regard to the Gaels. It goes back 40 years. At least a few of his townies were good servants to the Gaels club . Take all his Gaels critism with a pinch of salt! Inaroundehouse (Cavan) - Posts: 975 - 08/08/2017 11:43:53 2030890 Link 0 |
There is a lot wrong with our club scene but the scenario above can always happen no matter how well a competition is structured. Killygarry deserve a lot of credit. Young team who are building nicely and improved from last year. Top of Division 2 heading in the right direction. No reason why any team in any sport in a similar stage of development couldn't do likewise.

I pay for my club breifne pass like everyone else that has one. It's near impossible for me to attend matches for 99% of the time there are matches on in the park so wise up. As for not liking the gaels I have some good friends from the club past and present. If you have players that are good enough to play with the county I get on fine with them for they are wearing a different shirt. If I see players playing with your team with potential I have no problem noting them either so I have nothing against your players remember that. If its near impossible for you to attend these games, then perhaps shouldnt be commenting on them, otherwise you'll have to eat humble pie. As I said last week, Arva wouldn't get within a whisper of the Gaels, and you argued otherwise. My opinion was based on the fact that I've seen the Gaels on numerous occasions this year, whist yours was based on nothing but opinion. Anyway, I was right, you were wrong. cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 636 - 08/08/2017 17:27:39 2031189 Link 0 |

How come the county board don't give clarity on these matters. Also you wouldnt know if the relegation draw is seeded (9th vs 14th, 10vs13, 11vs12) or an open draw? gowna02 (Cavan) - Posts: 99 - 09/08/2017 13:03:59 2031542 Link 0 |
how come the county board see fit to put the gaels on every friday night, a wee bit unfair on there players who have to take half days from work for those working away from cavan. Breffni81 (Cavan) - Posts: 181 - 09/08/2017 14:00:56 2031576 Link 0 |
