Maybe it was a tongue in cheek comment but if Terry was reading these boards he would have some laugh at all the anti-Seanie Johnston comments over the years so i seriously doubt he does.

Same team I would say will start on Sunday. ???
Cavan_Slasher. If we have the same weather we are getting at the moment it will be hard to see how the pitch will take two matches. It's very wet right now so I hope Sunday dries up a bit to protect the pitch and help the quality of the game

Spot on again Sean. Same team named. I'm not convinced that the same team will start though. You don't get over a hamstring injury in a week, if it was a hamstring at all.

Not far off our strongest team. Not far off Galway's strongest team. Two young squads really wanting a crack at Division 1 football. Substitutions could play a massive part. Has the makings of a great game. Hopefully it stays dry- both teams would prefer a nice dry pitch. Weather looks iffy. Hard to know who the rain would suit. Anyway best of luck to all tomorrow.

Well the weather is holding and the pitch is drying up a bit. It will be heavy in parts so fingers crossed it continues as it is right now for it's a nice day in Cavan Town and Breffni Park. I have my doubts however about two matches but let's wait and see.

Sean the forecast is very bad for later on today and tomorrow morning. It should be dry in time for the game though.
Here's a very accurate weather forecasting centre. It's Norwegian but covers the world. The Norwegians use it for pilots flying to oil rigs and for doing repairs on them i'm told. I find it very accurate because you can put in exact locations i.e. Cavan town. It hasn't let me down yet anyway.

Good link Cavan_Slasher looks like it will be fine for both matches but it's pelting down now. I expect the pitch will be heavy in the usual areas.

Good luck to the lads tomorrow. I dont think it it will be a high scoring match with the conditions but if we get a one point win or a draw i ll be happy. Not sure if Johnston will start - you dont shake off a hamstring injury that quickly unless it was a minor strain. If not I would start Tom Hayes inside and keep Jack Brady and Keating for the second half. Good to have options.

Just finished working on the pitch if the rain continues we will be in trouble with two matches, I hope the forecast is correct for after 6 am if not we will be in trouble for sure. Fingers crossed as it would be nice to see how the ladies are progressing after their bad year last year.

Just like to wish Terry his management team and the whole panel of players the very best of luck. You have all did us proud this year. Galway wont be easy but I know ye can do it !!!
Been at every Lge game and I know the effort the lads have put in. I hope the Cavan supporters get out in their thousands and support the lads because we have not had a team like this for a long, long time.

a massive boost to Cavan football. It will be difficult to stay in Div 1, but that has to be a big aim, its the best way to bring the team up to the next level. Get used to playing and beating the top sides in the league and it gets easier to do it in championship too.
When Martin McHugh was Cavan manager he told the squad it was vital to be playing in Div 1, that it was the best way to build belief.

Well done Terry Hyland, coaches, staff, team, subs and panel, and best of luck in the final v tyrone.

Well done and a deserved win but you didnt beat Galway today you beat Connemara. Galway football is a joke. About 700 attended last home league game.

Huge congrats to all the panel. Thoroughly deserved. A lot of hard work put in. Hopefully that has silenced some of the critics on here. Div 1 will be very tough. Some winnable games though. We saw what Roscommon achieved this year. Get a good start, have the fitness levels high & develop a killer instinct. Extra game now v Tyrone will show if we have learnt any lessons from the game earlier in the league. Mr Harte will want their performances to be upped based on their last two results.

Great result today and having been at all tne mc Kenna and league matches bar one it is great to see tne progress this team had made in 2016.
Hopefully we can beat Tyrone as it would be great for Terry and this team to get a bit of silverware . Looking forward to the final and it would be especially nice for tne Gaa president to present his own county with the cup on the special gaa 1916 celebration day. We can do it.
