Not living in the county it's hard to get news of the U. 21's. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 08/03/2016 12:27:50 1832260 Link 0 |
I think this will be a very tough game and will take every man playing to his best ability to take the win asitis (Cavan) - Posts: 233 - 09/03/2016 21:13:28 1833078 Link 0 |
We got to Hastings cup final and went down to Westmeath if I remember right. Have we any senior panelists eligible to play ? facer4home (Cavan) - Posts: 159 - 11/03/2016 10:05:52 1833551 Link 0 |
Sorry .....we lost Hastings final to Offaly , its all been quiet since that, I expect our style of play will be defensive with Niall Lynch at the helm. Best of Luck to the lads on Wednesday, it would be sweet to scalp Tyrone in first round. facer4home (Cavan) - Posts: 159 - 11/03/2016 10:17:59 1833552 Link 0 |
Goodluck to the u21s on Wednesday. Tyrone will obviously be a tough test with a good number from last year team available , Peter Donnelly in the backroom teams so will have a fair knowledge on Cavan. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 13/03/2016 20:35:21 1834347 Link 0 |
I think Peter Donnelly has left the Tyrone set up. marita (None) - Posts: 468 - 13/03/2016 21:30:30 1834392 Link 0 |

Ye there all young enough . Think there all under 21. Tyrone have a few over 21s playing. They won the all Ireland last year. Your a cut boy. Bet u know the team slasher kinglarry (Cavan) - Posts: 189 - 15/03/2016 19:43:54 1835240 Link 0 |

Not a great performance. Still think they should have gone for the win in the Hastings final. marita (None) - Posts: 468 - 17/03/2016 10:29:33 1835545 Link 0 |
There was players carrying injuries who didn't start... Cavan kicked 16 wides so the chance was there to win the game. But Tyrone deserved the win, more composed. McShane was excellent at midfield FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 17/03/2016 10:52:47 1835554 Link 0 |
It was a way too many wides but was surprised when I saw the team. Was Thomas Galligan injured ? He would be a strong midfielder. Also there were a few forwards that dident start like Ben Kiernan, Ryan Connolly and young M.E.Donoghue from Denn which I was surprised at. Caoimhin Reilly must have been a big loss also. I dont know the club scene down there so not sure are all the top lads selected. But hard luck to the lads. BreffniDub (None) - Posts: 377 - 17/03/2016 11:55:45 1835563 Link 0 |
Thomas Galligan got injured in the first game of the Hastings Cup against Meath, he had been out since then. TE Donoghue is still Minor. Caoimhin Reilly was injured. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2824 - 17/03/2016 12:12:56 1835569 Link 0 |

the tyrone no 11 frank burns destroyed us from start to finish, we were very silly not putting a lad on him just to stop him from carrying the ball, in the 2nd half he picked up the ball on his own full back line and carried it 6o metres and not a cavan player went to him , also couldnt understand when we were 6 points down with 5 mins left we won a free from 35 yards out and called the kepper up to take it , that free should of been taken quick and try to work a goal, kepper ended up kicking it wide, when management look back at the video they will see the mistakes they made, and hopefully next year they can push on. paulie (Cavan) - Posts: 44 - 17/03/2016 15:14:53 1835600 Link 0 |
Yes the number 11 Frank Burns was outstanding and I recall the run you are talking about and too thought it was strange not one tackle on him. We live and learn better luck next year. He is along with 4 others on the Tyrone senior panel also. The Quiet Man (Cavan) - Posts: 4601 - 17/03/2016 21:31:37 1835687 Link 0 |
