If only!!!! I assumed it was a cert. Nice draw for you bucks, not easy for us. Galway or Mayo coming to Breffni for a big championship game in the sunshine would be a good novelty all the same if it works out that way

Very true. Galway or Mayo at home would be something different at least than Tyrone or Monaghan yet again

Replying To Loughduff Lad:  "That's about as good a draw as you could hope for. Dublin a write off clearly, but Roscommon beatable, and we'd take a rattle at Galway if they lose Connacht final.

As far as I can make out, it'll be us away to Mayo/Galway on 18/19 May, home to Dublin/Louth on 1/2 June, and then neutral to Roscommon on 15/16 June."
How is that decided?

We already knew the seedings and who plays who. Seed 2 (in this case Connacht runner up) were always at home week of 18/19 May to Seed 4, Seed 4 were home to Seed 1 on 1/2 June so Dubs coming to Breffni, and then Seed 3 and 4 are neutral so us vs Roscommon on 15/16 June. Where indeed would be a good neutral venue for that?

They will likely bring us to Pearse Park in Longford for the Roscommon game I would imagine.

Good enough draw for both, was hoping for a rematch but there you go. Good luck to Cavan, tough without Paddy Lynch but there are winnable games in that group. Sure who knows, a quarter final in Croke Park could still happen...

If Croke not on option. Great to play a meaningful match at HQ but atmosphere would good in a tight ground

If both teams still in with a good chance by then, will that be big enough if a crowd wants to come? Longford and Mullingar too, if they think they'll be big enough too

just checked capacity and Carrick only 9.5k. Thought was a bit more than that so thats out. Bound to be Croke then for a double header maybe

It was Longford when we played Rossies in the under 21s All Ireland semi final back in the early 2010s Overall it is nice to avoid the Ulster teams

Those fixtures are correct.

I said I wanted Dublin a few weeks back as the likelihood is they'll win their 3 games and leave it a 3 into 2 shootout.
I still believe that.

Away in Castlebar would be tough, but I'd really fancy a crack at Galway off the back of a Connacht final loss.

Of the 3rd seeds, I'm happy we got the non-Ulster side. And it's a winnable game too.

I also believe we're the 4th seed everyone would've wanted to avoid. We're very much still an unknown quantity.

Bad memories of queuing in traffic for the 1988 u21 final. A bad omen

I'm just pointing out that your game won't be in croke park, it will be in carrick. Galway played Armagh there so it's fine. It's funny after all the cheering and roaring the championship starts now.. Ulster champs are a thing of the past

Newbies to the all Ireland! You sound like a fan of some team like Bournemouth or Brighton slagging off the Likes of Nottingham Forest. Get in your lane Tom. You've no business talking about all Irelands.

A distant memory lads… all about the present. We will see where both teams are at in 6 weeks time.
