Drumlane good championship side who'll give Ballyhaise their fill of it this weekend, don't be surprised if they win this one."
Well if Knockbride had beaten them in the last game after being 4/5 pts up with a few minutes to go Drumlane were knocked out…. it was that tight

Knockbride don't win big championship games though

Interested to hear your thoughts on Ballymacugh and Shercock game.. Shercock seem to be constantly written off in this forum but have consistently came through all games bar Cornafean where they were quite unfortunate with a last gasp goal.

Same could probably be said of Ballymachugh.

Parralllels with both sides in that their only defeats have came against teams who are struggled badly throughout the campaign in Cornafean and Belturbet.

Game could go either way; but the fact that Ballymachugh drew with what has to be the overwhelming favorites for the championship Ballyhaise swung it for me.

Wouldn't be surprised if Shercock come out on top however.

The Ballyhaise result was quite a surprise. Should be a tight game in any event!

Will be interesting to see if Drung can make a game of it. I don't think you can rule them out completely. I'd have alot of respect for them over the last few years, gutsy and they play smart. The first half of the Kildallan match was excellent. They have a couple of proper championship games under their belt now the last couple of weeks, whereas Knockbride might be a little rusty in comparison. Pity the two Reilly's are out. Drung will probably need to keep a clean sheet and score a couple of goals to have a chance. I'd go with Knockbride, Arva, Mountnugent and Drumalee.

Intermediate games are tough to call. I'd agree score difference shouldn't be used Seemed strange the two teams going out after winning their respective do or die clashes. Ballyhaise should not be playing Intermediate football. But again last night the same silly errors and selfish shot selection which has let them down previously. I'd go for Denn, Killinkere and Shercock for the remaining games.

Looking forward to this weekend. Quarter finals are probably the best stage of a competition. It's hard to believe some counties go straight from groups to semis. Although even the inter county system did so during the super 8s.
Laragh v Ramor. Laragh played some good stuff in the league and have potential. They have a number of new players in this year but overall they are probably short on depth. They don't bring enough physicality when they play outside of Laragh. Think Ramor will have enough but would worry for them in the semis. Ramor 1-12 Laragh 1-09
Gaels v Kingscourt. Gaels down alot of players from last year Gearoid, Maloney derham, Meehan and others. They were completely over run by Killygarry but maybe their fitness will have improved since then. Kingscourt look like they have worked on their defence which will be vital for them if they are to challenge. Gaels 0-11 Kingscourt 1-12
Gowna v Killygarry. I think this one is set up nicely for Killygarry although they made a mess of the last group game in terms of score difference. Gowna have been poor and I don't think they will be able to just turn it on like a tap. They were also poor in last year's quarter final before rescuing a draw. I fancy Killygarry to correct the mistakes they made in last year final and cause the upset. Gowna 1-10 Killygarry 2-11
Ballinagh v Crosserlough. Ballinagh will need something close to a miracle here. Stranger things have happened but not very often. Ballinagh 0-10 Crosserlough 2-15

Missed the first game,
Would have said Ramor so never mind.

Kingscourt v Gaels - Kingscourt should have just enough fire power,
Kingscourt by 2.

Gowna v Killygarry - Gowna haven't clicked into gear yet but that's a very dangerous thing, they'll come alive now and be a real threat for the rest of the championship.
Gowna by 4

Crosserlough v Ballinagh - Crosserlough will win this by as much as they want, Ballinagh have absolutely nothing going for them, except the absolutely "hilarious" Twitter account, that's what's really important after all. Crosserlough by 12.

I was just listening back to the podcast from over the week, Fitzpatrick's argument about the "supercharged" junior is just getting ridiculous.
Cavan clubs record in Ulster junior has probably been the one facet of Cavan football that has worked well over the last few years. I don't think he will be satisfied until it goes back to days of a rubbish Drung or a Kildallon winning it followed up by a 10 point hammering in Ulster .
The county board made that decision years ago to try improve club football , let's not forget how bad it was. There was one Year in particular I think it was 2016. Cornafean won junior and arva won intermediate , both teams then got 15 point hammerings in Ulster.
I wouldn't mind but it's not even the case that our junior teams are dominating outside of Cavan. Drumlane lost last years final and I remember denn had a ding dong battle against a Derry team. We are now competing with the Derry Tyrone and Monaghan clubs.
Its up the other teams in the junior division to try set structures and get better across the board like what arva have done .

Cavan Gaels all over the place and their discipline is a disgrace. Management has to take some of the blame?

gaels looked like a beaten docket 10 minutes into the second half. late red was needless.

killlygarry lads are going to get walloped here if Gowna come out in the second half., these slow starts are not good for the ticker.
