Replying To The Quiet Man:  "Bit sad that you use the words blow ins and Guards I don't understand the difference if they the guards or coming from another county. Your words blow ins "how ffing pathetic".
They should be welcomes and embraced if they can improve a club or clubs by their presence. Check the history of Cavan and the clubs in Cavan who have done well with some quality players that came to their clubs from another country or county. You know what clubs that have done well by these new additions and I for one welcome them into the County. Before you mention my county with so called runner ins I had no problem then and I don't now either.
Regarding McKiernan it's strange that he passes at least seven clubs to play for Crosserlough but it's his decision so one that one has to live with it. Gallagher traveled from Fermanagh to register for Crosserlough and I am not sure he even played a game for them I stand corrected. A Forde M Lyng came to the gaels they improved by playing with a strong club and Cavan gained from them, So why not allow the quality players sign with senior clubs if it's going to benefit the county in the end.
Welcome these players if they have quality and improve club and county and also welcome McKiernan's move to a senior club of his choice. You say medal hunting when did Crosserlough last win a senior title I think around twenty years so if adding him to their future plans gains a senior title good luck to them."
I'm nearly sure Mc kiernan has moved to cavan gaels??????

Replying To Southcavan30:  "No thankfully i have no involvement with both parties, just a fan of cavan football, but i wish them both luck for whatever the choose.
Again it's up to them the player to do whatever the want to do, was it right for a drung player to go to ballyhaise, similar to what we are talking about.

Then what did you mean he won't have to go back to swad till august? but xlough was one of two clubs that did approach the player,am sure he wanted to play with them as you said thats where he was heading, again i have nothing against them but the last 10 years what have the achieved at the top table in cavan club football."
The drung player that transferred to Ballyhaise lives in Ballyhaise village and has done for many years, it is not comparable to this transfer at all

Again your reply does not add up or make any sense whatever. You even sound like a famous groundsman who posts on this group.

In relation to the Ballyhaise transfer, I dont really know the ins and outs of that one, but if it was as simple as a player thinking he was above Drung and/or wanting to win a medal then it is not acceptable in my eyes giventhe work the club and their members would have done in training up this footballer.

If it was for other reasons outside of that, then maybe it was acceptable.

But there are no other reasons in the McKiernan transfer and your rambling and twisting won't change that.

What is the point in training up young players to improve small clubs if they can just leave when the make a certain level? That is not part of the GAA ethos.

And Swad are not going to get a large fee like Ajax do in soccer that they can reinvest in 4/5 young players that might be able to cover the loss.

Yes, perhaps Divisional teams should be brought in so McKiernan can play Senior, like Clifford does in Kerry, but the absence of a system like that being in place does not make a transfer like this acceptable in my opinion.

Paul Prior the new Mullahoran manager, you would imagine they will be favourites for Division 2 in the new year.

Yes I believe so. Mullahoran unlucky with injuries this year so should be one of the top D2 teams if they are up for the fight. They have a big gap to bridge to make contenders in D1 and Senior and will need to progress massively to do so.

Some other rumours I have heard. I think Kevin McDonnell to Bailiebrough is confirmed. Along with Donal Keoghan taking over his native Denn.

Ballyhaise have a new manager but I forget his name. Peter Reilly appointed at Ballinagh also I believe.

And also heard that Castlerahan have approached John McEntee.

2 Ive heard in last few days from very reliable sources is Kevin Mcdonnell to Cavan Gaels and Niall Lynch taking over Castlerahan. Will wait and see if my source can be believed!

Some of the names above. Maguire is staying on with Ballinagh. Don't think the Keoghan Denn rumour true either. Or Kevin Mcdonnell
Declan Beard taking over Drung

Your source unreliable it seems. Kevin Mc Donnell is in bailieborough. Cavan Gaels have appointed Kieran Donnelly.

If you were to look at it in terms of win percentage, I would agree that it doesnt look great (at 0%), but if you were to look at it in terms of losses this century, then Cavan Gaels (who I have noted many posters on this forum claiming to be the team of the century so far) have 10 defeats in Ulster.

That is 8 more than Castlerahan's mere 2 losses.

Yes, but if you look at Maghera and Corlough's combined total of 0 losses in Ulster this decade it really doesn't reflect well on Castlerahan at all.

What a ridiculous statement that is. Cavan Gaels have lost 8 in Ulster because they won 8 county finals. Would it not be better to add games they have won over last decade and count championships to determine a team of the decade rather than count losses in Ulster. I think then you will get your team of decade answer

You could hire a prime Mick o Dwyer and it wouldn't make the slightest difference in Castlerahan's , or any Cavan clubs, bid for Ulster glory. There is a weak mentality in cavan football that winning the county championship is all that really matters. Castlerahan had every opportunity to make an impact on Ulster this year, they were playing an exhausted Naomh Conaill side who were after being on a 2/3 day drinking session 48 hours before throw in, they were playing them at home and they had a full 3 weeks to prepare and they still went out very tamely.

Has anyone a list of new managers in each division in Cavan for 2020?
Heard Keogan has been persuaded to go back to Castlerahan for 3 in a row.
