If Dublin win their next game, could they be guaranteed a league final place by the time they come to play us?

We need to go to Clones and try to beat a team low on confidence since their only win on the first day. It should be like a Championship affair. If we are able to pull the win off ( hopefully with Killian Clarke back) then need Galway and Kerry to do us favours against Roscommon. The great escape is possible!

March the 16th Dublin V Tyrone
March the 24th Cavan V Dublin
It would have to depend on results for Dublin Mayo Galway have 6 points Tyrone have 5 so to be honest with you I expect come the 24th Dublin will be looking to beat Cavan.

16th March
Galway V Roscommon
Monaghan V Cavan
Kerry V Mayo
Dublin V Tyrone

24th March
Mayo V Monaghan
Tyrone V Galway
Roscommon V Kerry
Cavan V Dublin

Depending on other results they might be guaranteed a place in league final after next round taking head to heads into account.

Does not guarantee you staying up except that Cavan would be ahead of Monaghan on the head to head thats all with 4 points each. Should Roscommon Win they will have five points it would mean Cavan would have to win their last two matches to be sure.

To be honest I could see monaghan win against mayo last day and Ros could get something from either Galway or Kerry, who likely will be in league final without having to play the last game. All we can do is our best to beat Monaghan and hope for the best elsewhere.

The only way that would happen is if Dublin win their next game and galway lose to roscommon, in which case we're in much bigger trouble.

As it stands Cavan need 6 points and let the rest of the results favor them. It's in their own hands at the end of the day. Should they lose on the 16th it would be near impossible for them to get a result against Dublin.

Monaghan have two points though.

Killian Clarke will be back as he only got 2 yellows. Monaghan will be without Darren Hughes as he got a straight red yesterday.

It's simply must win. If we beat them and still go down then fair enough, but we travel to Clones for a must win game and I want to see a performance and result from this Cavan team.

Hearing now that Hughes didn't get a straight red - anyone see the game? Report says yellow followed by black.

I was very surprised to see Killian Clarke returning to the field for the 2nd half after a receiving a yellow card.
Losing a man was a real possibility the way the ref was refereeing it and Clarke was not playing well. Management should have whipped him off at half time. Game was over as soon as that happened. And I don't think we kicked in one long ball when the game was competitive.

The reality of the whole situation is we won't beat anyone if all we can manage is 2 points from play in 70/75 minutes.

Disappointing result.

I did not get to the game. Was Killian Clarke's red card justified or stupid on his part? Seems like that made the big different but obviously we didn't perform.

I suppose the next step for Mickey after the Roscommon game will be trying to get us in a position to put in big performances back to back as obviously there was a bit of a lull on Saturday from the previous week, or perhaps sore bodies.

But Tyrone are a good team growing into the league and obviously did have others like Sludden and Donnelly to help Peter Harte as I suggested they would. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get to another AI final as I think Kerry are overhyped for what they actually have. Stopping a top class player like Peter Harte is also easier said than done as well.

We need to bounce back and beat Monaghan. I think if we do that, even if we are relegated we can be relatively proud of ourselves.

The Galway game will probably be looked at as the one that got away if we do beat Monaghan and go down as well. They were understrength and there for the taking that day but it was early days for Mickey too.

Looking at it now, I have a feeling we will beat Monaghan and finish on 4 points but go down with them as I think the Rossies will get a win from the last 2 games.

We could really do with getting Gearoid and Caomhin (if he's still in) back soon also as we are lacking natural finishers I feel. Hopefully they will be able to make a difference in the c'ship at least as there has been improvements made by Mickey in other areas of the team and the system but he could do with having a bit more to work with in the scoring stakes.

Red card was harsh....wind was definitely a factor in the first half, but was hard to judge from the stand

Would have been nice to see 15 v 15 for 20 mins to see what we were capable of.....you cant play Tyrone with a man down, they are too well organised

There was also a stamp, that went unpunished.......a yellow was handed out.....it was a red or no card.....ref didnt see it, but yellow issued after a consultation with the linesman from Down....Brannagan I think

I thought Clarkes two yellows were a bit on the soft side but I hadnt a great view to be fair. But once he got the 1st one and knew that Padraig Hughes was the ref (and branigan a linesman) he should have known what would happen if he even brushed of a Tyrone player. If it was just one incident Id cut him some slack but his discipline has been very poor for a while now. We cannot afford to be playing Div 1 teams with 14 men.

Sorry to disappoint but Darren Hughes didn't get a straight red yesterday so like Killian Clarke will be available for next day.
Both counties need Roscommon to keep losing and I would worry about Kerry team selection against them in Hyde. On their form against Dubs yesterday, Rossies would beat an under strength Kerry especially in a do or die situation.
