Clare manager Brian Lohan has received a welcome boost with the news that Shane O’Donnell is deemed fit to play in tomorrow’s Munster senior hurling championship clash against Tipperary in Ennis.

It was thought that the current ‘Hurler of the Year’ was out for the season after undergoing surgery in January, with reports at the time suggesting his rehabilitation period would be up to six months.

However, the Eire Og clubman has been named in the All-Ireland champions’ matchday squad for tomorrow, while talisman Tony Kelly returns to the starting line-up after having missed the recent defeat to Waterford due to illness.

Sean Rynne is also selected in Lohan’s side at centre-field as Clare seek their first win of the Munster SHC campaign against the Premier men, with throw-in at Zimmer Biomet Cusack Park tomorrow evening scheduled for 6pm.
