Ken Hogan is the new manager of Laois senior hurling side The Harps.

The former All-Ireland SHC winning Tipperary goalkeeper, whose son Brian has returned to the county fold after a three-year lapse, previously managed the Tipp senior and U21 teams as well as a number of club sides, including St Rynagh’s, who he guided to a three-in-a-row of Offaly SHC titles between 2019 and ’21.

He has also managed Coolderry to two Offaly SHC titles and a Leinster club SHC success over a decade ago, and Borris-Kilcotton to Laois SHC glory in 2016. More recently, Hogan was involved with his native Lorrha.

The Harps, who are based in Durrow and Cullohill, are hoping the high-profile improvement will lead to an upswing in fortunes in 2026 after they only secured their senior status with a victory over Castletown this year. They did, however, have the consolation of winning the SHC ‘B’ title at Abbeyleix’s expense.
