Weekend Game Pass

(Oldest Posts First)

Just read this on the WH GAA website this morning:

"Westmeath GAA have introduced a Value Pass for entry to all championship games over a set weekend period. Passes will cost €25 and allow the bearer entry to all games over specified dates eg all championship games from Friday to Sunday inclusive. Full details can be obtained by application to the County Secretary James Savage in Cusack Park."

Did anyone avail of this at the weekend for the hurling? Could be popular with the football on this weekend.

I think its a step in the right direction, but would €20 been enough?

On a side note, whats everyone thinking for tomorrows Co. Board meeting, will Bealin get the chop?

With the way games are being played as double headers who is going to go to games on both days?
Meath introduced a season ticket scheme two years ago and their gate receipts went up.

Apparently the County Board have stated they are committed to retaining Paul Bealin as senior manager but the matter is not up to them as the Clubs have the greater say in the County Manager appointment at tomorrow's County Committee meeting. If the Clubs want a new manager then I feel they should have it. If we were to compare the way and reasons for despatching Pat Flanagan then there is no way Bealin can justifiably be retained in Westmeath.

Tazz, your last sentence is spot on and cannot be overlooked. They may as well just give the job to Tom Carr as we all know that is their plan.

Its a step in the right direction attendances are very small at these games. Family passes need to be brought in for double headers also, as most families only go to see 1 game but are charged for 2. Its the little things that make a big difference in getting people out, complimentary tea wouldn't be a big cost either if there were enough volunteers to dish it out.
