Dessie Dolan

(Oldest Posts First)

I'd like to take the opertunity to thank Dessie Dolan for years of great entertainment, commitment and excitement. It is a privilege to have watched this man mature into the great footballer he became. It's been a fantastic journey and he gave everything for the jersey, his team mates and is the supporters. Hopefully some day we'll see him as a manager. There's a few more years of club football in him, best of luck to him.

Massive lost. Still probably our best player. Unfortunate he had to go out on a disaster of a year but thanks for some great memories. The most intelligent footballer Westmeath ever had.

Best of luck to Dessie in his retirement. He scored some magnificent points down the years and was the ultimate team player. At least he has his medals to show for his efforts.

What can anyone say that has not already been said. Thanks for the huge commitment in years that very few can give now. A great scorer and the provider of so many wonderful passes as well. Hopefully we will see him continue to be involved in Westmeath GAA.

A true great whose wide array of talents were recognised throughtout the GAA world. His dedication to the sport he loved knew no boundaries. It was a joy to witness his football brain in action over the past 15 years. Hopefully you will be involved with the Westmeath set-up sooner rather than later. Best of luck!

From the first time I saw him play for Westmeath u21s against Dublin in 1998.[Lost by 2 points and missed a penalty]
until 2014 against Louth Dessie was a pleasure to support and follow.
