Brendan Murtagh

Best of luck to Brendan Murtagh on his retirement and thanks for 16 years of memories. If we had 15 hurlers with his determination, dedication, skill and toughness we would be up there with the best in the country. I hope he can pass some of his traits on to Westmeath teams in the future

Congrats Brendan on many years of fantastic service to the maroon cause. He'll be very well remembered as time goes on. Enjoy the next chapter life has in store.

I hope that Brendan Murtagh gets something more from Westmeath GAA than a tweet! A guy who represents his county for 18 years with such distinction deserves some sort of acknowledgement for this.

I dont know the guy personally, but know of him. 18 years is a lot of personal sacrifice by him and his family. I hope Westmeath GAA does the decent thing and makes some sort of presentation to him at some game in the future.
