Don't always agree with Hardcore's views (ie McManus should be rested against Carlow) but entitled to his say, particularly as he is usually pretty well informed with best interests of our county at heart. So lets play the ball & not the man !

AH Ah funny boys with your fantasy football..................You's are some Monaghan supporters to be happy enough to look at your county go to Croke Park and make a show of themselves while our manager sits on his arse and watches it unfold while doing nothing about it.

Yous wont be so smart in another few months when you's see the amount of players that arent going to commit next year, and along with the supporters who are fed up looking at the crap football been played by this team you's might realise what mess we are in.

Half of you's wouldnt know if it was pumped or stuffed.

Seeing that you have such an insight into the panel Hardcore can you tell us what players aren't going to commit to playing for the county next year ? Then get back to writing your letter to Santa

We made a very stupid mistake in replacing Banty with E McEneaney on basis of he couldn't bring us any further & look what happened. .....worst appointment ever & ended up in division 3. Unless a sure fire candidate to replace Malachy then we should stick with him......and use league to make ' positive changes' to way we play plus introduce new players even if relegation results.

Fair enough Hardcore, you want MOR out, we've got it, but your attitude that the rest of us don't know what we're talking about, and that you're the only one who really knows what should happen is getting a bit rich by now.

MOR wasn't the only manager to see his team get hammered by the Dubs. You think Harte should go too?

Remember MOR was willing to walk away at the end of last year, it was the players who wanted him to stay. You reckon some players will leave because he is staying, but some would have left with him if we went anyway. Honestly, do you think the sight of your suggested management team of McHugh and Banty would have players beating down the gate at Cloghan to get to training?

It looks like your other favourite Pete McGrath won't end up managing any intercounty team, despite all the counties who have had to find new managers. So either you know something that 4 or 5 county boards don't, or he's just not the man for the job any more. If MOR had become available, you can be guaranteed he would have been picked up by another county, no question. BTW, you said on the other thread that MOR was living on 2013, have you conveniently forgotten about the fact we won Ulster in 2015 as well. Or does he not get any credit for that now...?

We scraped that Ulster title by the skin off our teeth, struggled against a poor Cavan team, took us all our time to beat a limited Pete McGrath managed Fermanagh, and Donegal kicked it away the second half of the final..........we then went to Croke Park again and got hammered by Tyrone.........Yes we won an Ulster Title but we didnt play any decent football on the way.......10 minute spells here and there and its been the same since.

Im not taken anything away from Malachy O'Rourke, hes a brilliant manager and has been brilliant for us,but its over, it was plain to be seen in Croke Park against the Dubs..........Breffni Park against Donegal twice last year, and Down this year in Armagh..........same style, same plan, same results.

What is everyone afraid of,we are not winning anything or getting to Ulster Finals nor are we competing as good as we should be.......

Its done now he staying and best of luck to him......i just hope its not another year wasted!!!

Hardcore, let's face it McHugh would be a great choice but he ain't going to manage another county with his family so heavily involved with Donegal. So that leaves Banty & Pete McGrath....No Thanks !

Everyone is discussing the need for the management to change up the panel this year. When looking at the the three confirmed finalists in the senior and intermediate championship this year (Magheracloone, Aughnamullen, Carrick) I am really confused by the lack of representation on the county Panel. I am not sure if it comes from management not picking these players or players not wanting to be on the panel. However, from watching this year championship their is a very strong case for many of these players to be their.
From what i gather their is only three players ( Michael Bannigan, Stephen gollogly and Gavin Doogan) from them three teams. Surely their is the case for more from watch these players this years: Peter O hanlon, Stephen and Kevin O hanlon, Niall Loughman, Cillian Cromwell, Pete Dooney, Sean Sheridan, Shane Conlon, James Ward, Allan Kieran, Jamie Kieran, Michael Metzger). We talk about needing height and new midfield many of these players are well over 6ft and physically strong. Peter O hanlon and Pete Dooney have been dominating their midfield throughout the championship surely these are worth a chance.

I see the white hope Darren Freeman was a non playing member of the St. Brigids panel at the weekend. Any update why he was not involved?

Not sure if I agree with you there. The first thing to do is to get enough points to stay up (6 or 7), would that not be easier done playing the weaker teams (on paper) at home rather than away. Though it always helps to have 4 at home.
Tyrone at home will be a big one I feel
