Best young ladies goalkeeper?

(Oldest Posts First)

Just realising there are very few young goalkeepers getting proper training in ladies gaa. A good goalkeeper is hard come by this year. Very little amount of minor and u16 goalkeepers dive for the ball or challenge the shot. I think there should be workshops for young keepers in each province. What are your opinions?

definitely. up to the management at county level to get out to club games, pick some good tall girls with a modicum of ability and train them and mould them into good keepers. goals going in over the head RUINS the game as a spectacle, pick out the tall girls at a young age, train them up and improve the standard of goalkeeping in the game

Ya I fully agree, I don't think women are capable of being good keepers in a full sized goals though so maybe make the goals smaller for them? It's the same rubbish in camogie.
