New Rules?

(Oldest Posts First)

Heard a lot about new rules in the mens, peno spot being moved forward, no more square ball etc, is this being implemented to Ladies football aswell?

No but some of them should i.e. the penalty being brought forward.

I don't agree with the mark being introduced into ladies & the handpass should remain as it is also in ladies football.

The 45 should be altered in the ladies game however - either it be allowed to be taken from the hands or the distance changed to a 35 metre off the ground kick. In all my years attending ladies' games I have never seen a 45 scored from the ground.

Back a few years ago in a county minor match i seen a young centre forward score a 45 of the ground. She recieved a standing ovation from the crowd. If a minor can do it surley a senior can!

Played a coll final there a few years ago against maynooth and their free taker scored 2 45's that day. Leave the rules as they are, but more ref coaching needs to be done. Too many refs are reffing both men and ladies football and some are playing the same rules for both i.e. physicallity, allowing the boot go in when a player picks up a ball.
