Leinster championship 2013

(Oldest Posts First)

Well lads it's Offaly again! Expect a tougher test this time round with the new manager at the helm. Wonder would that quarter final be in croker with the Dubs v WestmeathvCarlow?? Looking forward to the 2013 season already. I think its a good draw for Kildare. If we do happen to get over Offaly. The reward is possibly Dublin in the Semi and it's that type of test that you need to push on for the silverware. That stern test will stand to the potential finalist.

2013 is the make or break year for this team. We should get over Offaly and then a huge task againgst Dublin. Hopefully the team will put in a huge effort and if we lose let there be no excuses. We need to go through the front door this year as our luck in the qualifiers wont last forever. Playing in Division 1 of the NFL should stand to us come the championship where we will get to play Dublin possibly twice before that.

Ye might be a harder test this from OY as they will be well rested in Div 4 of the League !!!!

Seriously, with new management already in place and alredy having held trials Oy seem to have woken up a bit so here's hoping we can test ye this time.

True Kelf, I'd imagine with some of the under 21's coming through too it'll be a different Offaly team next year.

McDonnell already has some good experience in working with some of the young players in the county so if he can add a few players to the panel from the trials this weekend then things should be shaping up nicely for ye over the winter.

At the same time though it'll be a project that'll need time to for it to work, Kildare next year might just be coming a bit too soon for them just yet.

If Rhode or Clara get over the Louth champions (which I'd expect) they could well lay down a marker against our own club champions.

I'd expect us to beat Offaly, but I wouldn't be half as confident going into it as I was for our match earlier this year.

No bother at all, taken from the Leinster GAA website

Preliminary Round
1. Wicklow v Carlow 28.10.2012 Aughrim

Quarter Final
2. 1 v Laois 11.11.2012 Aughrim / Carlow

Preliminary Round
3. Longford v Wexford 28.10.2012 Longford

Quarter Final
4. 3 v Meath 11.11.2012 Longford / Wexford

Preliminary Round
5. Offaly v Louth 28.10.2012 Tullamore

Quarter Finals
6. 5 v Kildare 11.11.2012 Tullamore / Drogheda

7. Westmeath v Dublin 11.11.2012 Mullingar

Semi Finals
8. 2 v 4 25.11.2012 To be confirmed

9. 6 v 7 25.11.2012 To be confirmed

8 v 9 9.12.2012 Neutral Venue

Very tough route for whatever team from Kildare wins the county championship, especially without the balance of home advantage.

Quarter final against Rhode / Clare or the Louth champs, potential semi against Garrycastle (assumption only) or the Dublin champs, and then a final against the Meath champs or Portlaoise (assumption only)
