Maybe they were just not as committed whether they are more talented than others or not ,not committed enough then no point.

Can you imagine in 3-4 years time when(I hope) he and Cribbin come back. We'll have some midfield then lads.

Hope he doesn't go , seems to be a very talented player by all accounts , probably one of McGeeneys errors when his time at the helm in Kildare will be assessed

Both were commited as they could be considering the time that they had to give the Sigerson. Geezer played a lot of Sigerson himself and should have cut the Lads some slack particularly so early in the year. After the Sigerson (where Hurley and Brophy both got all stars) for NUIM he told them to train with the juniors for a few weeks. Considering neither of them were eligible to play with the juniors and the grief that geezer was giving them they walked and were right to do so. All I'm saying is that we'd be preparing to face the Dubs if he had man managed that situation better and maybe Australia wouldnt be as appealing to hurley with a a good summers football and a leinster medal in his pocket.

Agree Hurley was badly treated alright but very few young lads will turn down a chance to play professional football in Australia especially in the current economic climate. The chance to meet up with Cribben was also a factor I'm sure. Wish him all the best and hope they come home as better players one day.

hurleys a brilliant footballer and a huge loss to kildare, him and brophy are the type of player we could have done with around the middle againts meath. Dropping them both wasnt McGeeneys finest moment. Both players were juggling sigerson and inter county at the start of the year as was moolick and a few others but still gave 100% commitment to the county, hurley and brophy proved there class winning sigerson all-stars and its a disgrace IMO that geezers left players of that caliber out of the squad!!

where was his commitment at oxygen?

lilywhitemagic, Just shows how much you know about Kildare football when its a well known fact he went after the Laois game to oxegen. Why wouldnt he? Geezer ruined him against Dublin , apparently he was flying at training even after that and then to top it all off Geezer doesnt give him a run against Laois. Young Fogarty cleaned up against Tyrone and whats his award? A place on the bench against Offaly? Mc Geeney doesnt know how to blood youngsters into the team. End of story!

Lillymadfan- why are you posting when obviously u know nothing about it if you think he wasn't invited into the panel this year - see my last post

Lillywhitemagic- what nonsense you speak. Typical of 50 % of our fans unfortunately.

Cill dara - well said - add in the way he treated young moolick in the league to his list of sins against our young footballers. It won't be long before Mallon motors stop funding underage development if geezer continues this way

id have to agree there's no rewards being given to the younger players , what he done to hurley in that dublin game was extremly harsh!!its like mcgeeney thought he had the players he thought would win him a leinster/all-ireland and had no interested in blooding our younger players which can only be a bad thing for kildare supporters in the long run!!!
