Club Facilities

(Oldest Posts First)

Just looking at HS about Cloone GAA club in Leitrim taking a cut of silage off their pitch and it got me thinking (seeing as there's nothing else for doing). What club would have the best facilities and playing surface in Galway and what would be the best you have seen outside of Galway?

My favourite in Galway are the below.

Monivea Abbey (football)
Kenny Park (hurling). Also like Carnmore.

Some of the best club pitches in the county in no particular order:
Monivea
Tuam Stars
Corofin
Annaghdown
Headford
Gort
Turlough (Lackagh)
Carnmore
Salthill (The Praire)

Definitely missing a few here.

I'd forgotten about this.Off the top of my head I think the finest set ups would be Gort ,Moycullen and Kilconieron .The nicest playing surface is probably still Ballinasloe although Sarsfields new pitch is lovely. Honourable mentions for Ardrahan and Castlegar in the summertime, they always had a lovely carpet of grass. Nice facilities in Monivea and Eyrecourt as well now that I think of it
Outside of Galway Ratoath in Meath an St Martins in Wexford are two that spring to mind although its a while since I was in Wexford

Ros Muc best club stand in the county. A pity they don't have a team to match.
