Kevin was involved with Castleknock, Dublin - and head hunted to boot. His natural football philosophy would be along the lines of Jim Gavin. Whether KW has the confidence to make the step up is the imponderable. With new additions: Silke, and a potential half backline of McDaid, Molloy and Wall it's now or never for him..

I do recall you mentioning in a previous post we had a "porous" half back line... so you want to leave it as is? Good man.

From what I hear, he coached castleknock when they got to Dublin county final. That was a huge achievement for castleknock at the time as I don't think anyone would have backed them to get that final. Having said that, it was achieved on the back of a defensive football strategy as opposed to a more expansive game plan. Hopefully, he brings the latter to the Galway set up and not the park the bus strategy.

I did
You are dead right and thanks for correcting me there
Anyway sure we might as well go with a new half back line none of which have started a championship game for galway before, one of which has never even been on the panel
Anyway Stritch is very highly regarded by players in longford
They were very happy with him, freshened up training and hoped he would stay on
Damien Sheridan probably had a hand in getting him onboard

Great appointment. Would expect him to dovetail nicely with the other new addition to the coaching staff Paul Kilgannon.

He is from Carnmore hurling club. He managed Claregalway to the Intermediate title last year. He recently released a coaching manual/book for coaches. He has developed the "CARVER" model of coaching. A top class coach who is a primary school teacher also.

Great to hear Paul Kilgannon involved, he has his very own specific way of coaching and is a great speaker. He will get that extra 10% out of the lads that will hopefully bring us closer to Dublin.
