At one stage he was unstoppable, he is one of the greats, now he joins us in the stands! A legend.

LEGEND

A hero when we needed one and a warrior when we had many.

The best inside forward I've ever seen play for Dublin.

He could turn and kick a point in a phonebox!

He had many great days and performances for Dublin, v Mayo and Kerry in 13, the entire 2010 and 2015 championships, Kildare in 2009 all stand out.

But for me his best ever performance came in the infamous All-Ireland semi final in 2011 against Donegal. He didn't score from play but he was magnificent. He set up both of Dublin's points from play with a lovely flick to Kev Mc and an eye of the needle pass to Cullen. It was also him who won and converted the frees that won the game. Without BB that day Dublin would not have beaten Donegal.

A player of immense quality.

Left foot, right foot, turn on a six pence, his spatial awareness and off the ball movement was unmatched. His 1-10 against Mayo in the league in 2013 is one of the best forward performances that I have ever witnessed - scoring points off both feet, cracking goal, a sideline point from way out the field. His performance in the 2011 final was also majestic especially in that crucial last 10m. A true legend and absolute gent. Judging by his cameo in Omagh he'd still make most IC starting 15s. The manner in which he conducted himself off the field also set a very high bar for the blues that followed. Thanks for the memories Bernard.

A fabulous talent and a wonderful role model for all. Re-watched his display v Cork in that heart breaking semi-final. His goal was a thing of beauty. He'll be sorely missed.

How fortunate Dublin were to have such a wonderful ambassador and player. Inspiration to all as to how to conduct yourself and a class act on and off the field.
