Ciaran Kilkenny

(Oldest Posts First)

He just deserves to have his name as a topic on this forum. A beast of a player. I had expected that Keegan would take him. I think that was a big Mayo mistake, not that Con didn't deserve Keegan but Ciaran is the heartbeat of this team. He had a hand in all 3 goals and countless points. Our absolute go to player.

Outstanding, people were saying after he didn't play crazy talk he was everywhere involved in everything he's a beast. He'd a great game.

The fecker setup 3 goals and was directly involved in 12pts

He had a savage game and the sort of performance that further cements the chaps prestige.

Legend.

Best game of the year and hitting form at the right time, i thought he has been off his imperious best before Saturday.

Coming into his best form at the right time.

I hold Kilkenny to a very high standard because he is that good.

I'm not sure who the feck is coming up with the scoring numbers per player in the papers

I've seen three 7/10 marks against Kilkenny's performance

The chap setup 3 goals.. had to be a 9 out of 10 no?

Absolutely brilliant performance from Kilkenny and he's one of the men Kerry will target to try disrupt things for Dublin. Great contribution on Saturday and looks like he's hitting peak form at the best time possible.

He orchestrated the comeback. That hand pass to Con was inch perfect. No breaking stride, fantastic. After the blitz he then dictated the pace, paring it back a notch to recover and manage the game out. I can't speak highly enough of him. He may not do the Hollywood moves, those Mannion points, but he works tirelessly and manages the games for us, the graft that doesn't get the spotlight. I thought that Scully did sterling work in that second half as well. Brian Howard is a better dancer than Michael Flatley as well. Feet of flames!

Clever analysis there chief

Better than anything I've seen in the papers regarding Kilkenny

He is the pivotal player in the team. When Dublin are playing to their awesome potential Kilkenny is always heavily involved. He very much directs a lot of the attacks and influences the pace of the game. Great player.

Yes, he has real leadership and drive. One of the greatest ever players in the game.
For his sake and for his team mates, now that we are well and truly out, I sincerely hope the Dubs do the 5 in a Row.

Had a great 2nd half in the semi final but was very poor in the opening half which probably reflected his 7/10 rating in most papers... he had only 1 shot at goal which dropped short which is way down on his average per game... He had a huge impact in the 2nd half but you have to look at the whole 70 minutes and not just one half... don't get me wrong he is a wonderful player and pivotal to Dublins game plan... All teams know that but never seem to be able to curtail his influence on a game which is why he will go down as one of the all time greats of the game in time to come..

He has to be more involved next Sat. Fairly well shackled last week. A sluggish Ciaran is a sluggish Dublin. Hope he has his Weetabix.

I'll say it again, what a player. Ciaran plays well and Dublin play well. Legend.
