Heard from a reliable source that Turlough O'Brien will be staying on with the footballers but with a few changes in the background. Haven't heard anything re Colm Bonnar. Interesting now with Pauric fanning leaving the job in Waterford. I reckon Bonnar would be on a list of possible candidates to replace him.

If he is that's good news.

Great news if O'Brien / Poacher ticket is retained. Despite all the palaver spoken they are the only lads who have done anything in a generation. Look at 20-8 and what was achieved, hard luck, injuries and maybe some mange meant mistakes say us relegated . Championship was rubbish, but to be fair little else could be expected given the hand we had

It's highly unlikely Carlow will have T O'Brien for the coming season.

I have heard conflicting reports
HS report that TOB does not have full support of county board.

Doesn't surprise me that some 'board members' might not want to ratify O'Brien.

We have a history of cock-ups at CB level.

If they don't appoint him then see what kind of panel we will have.

We will go back 30 years and maybe this is what suits these brainless people.

For me the last 2/3 years supporting Carlow footballers have been the best period in my 30 years following them.

Some incredible days out: We put it up to Dublin, Monaghan, we hammered Kildare and Louth in 2018. Great numbers going to games.........all down to O'Brien.

Maybe he should just walk away and let them fix everything!!!!!! They don't deserve him.

God help us.

Well said Novalis. He's given heart and soul for this county.

I can't even imagine the mindset that won't support him now.

No more Stone age football so maybe Carla will come out and play football now

We know Leix has our best interests at heart... lads, losing the most successful management team we have had for decades would be the most Carlow thing ever... who are they going to get instead? Paddy Morrissey again? Andy Shorthall? Anthony Rainbow?... if it wasn't so tragic, you'd have to laugh...

Novalis, you hit the nail on the head there. Turlough O Brien took that job when we had no success...after many years of allegedly 'high profile managers.
How he turned things around for the better and changed the mindset of the players. We were very unfortunate tbis year with very small margins going against us.
I hope he is re-appointed. The man has a passion for his county that most CB members wouldn't even understand.

I can use a chart if it helps.

With Obrien and Poacher we get promoted and beat division 1 teams.

Without them we go back to bottom of division 4

You'd really have to question those in charge at that level. It's frightening. If that man wants the job let him have it

The politics within is fighting against that idea.

Is it that South Carlow teams have more reps on CB therefore they hold away. To not support TOB if he wants another year is pure mule

So - if some board members are against renewing Turlough's management, why do people think this is the case?

It is one ting to give out about the Board and back up one's arguments with his record which is very impressive when comparing it to others from the past, but why are Board members slow to ratify his appointment once more?

Should you not be off saluting Leix? You don't attend matches in Carlow anymore, so we don't need your opinion.
