Tipp remind me of ourselves in 2015 whereby just up from Div 3 and put a lot of effort and energy into Div 2 that little was left in the tank for the championship. I would expect Tipp to be fairly competitive for about 50 mins tomorrow night but Mayos strength and conditional is on a different level and i would expect Mayo to push home by margin of about 6 points. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 22/06/2018 19:15:49 2113788 Link 0 |

Just something I've noticed recently on social media when a Mayo team is announced...the amount of pure disrespectful commentary aimed at the Mayo team and county from around the country is sad. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11236 - 22/06/2018 21:54:54 2113812 Link 1 |
Same when the Tipperary hurling team is named!! Even from our own county!!

If you want to be offended then spend some time on social media. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 23/06/2018 07:56:04 2113838 Link 1 |
I know but these are news sites which allow people to comment. Maybe most counties get the same abuse I don't know...anyway hoping to shut them up today as many are hoping "Tipp to put Mayo out of their misery"....whatever that means...Up Mayo

If Mayo had been in the wilderness for the last 7 years these same people wouldn't be commenting anything positive. Once upon a time you could personally tell folk like that to stop spouting crap and get a life if you were inclined, but social media sites allow them to peddle whatever they like and they like very little. Just don't revisit the site and reward the owners. Personally I'm not a fan of the thumbs up/down feature in this site... it results in less actual posting and debate.

You better believe it's not just Mayo. I don't even bother looking at what's put on these sites because it's pointless , valueless opinion that is purely borne out of either their own shortcomings or just plain spiteful goonism. What's the point of it .It's has no impact other than to offend anyone and everyone. Ignore it completely and it is completely nullified. Whoever is admin for the Mayo GAA Banter page is no innocent either in this stuff. Had a photo of Tyrone from Coronation Street showing domestic abuse a few years ago when we beat them. Tasteless childish stuff. There's trolls from everywhere hiding behind keyboards getting kicks from getting a reaction from people. Best ignored. I'm old fashioned and don't really buy into how people can be cyberbullied but I honestly think some of the keyboard warriors have mental health issues. There's only one team playing ball here. Every time we go past the halfway line we look to play the ball wide then slobber around and lose it to a well organised Tipp defence. They're way more efficient in front of goal than we are and haven't exerted themselves too much. Must be about 25 degrees on the pitch so fitness gonna play a part in the second half. We need to be more direct to get through this and use Lee to get through them or create some space. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7363 - 23/06/2018 17:56:39 2113923 Link 1 |

We play too much to a gameplan, very little off the cuff stuff. Too much hand passing for me but a win is a win. Tipp tired but played some lovely football. They can play the cards dealt them rather than follow the plan. We need to improve a lot for the next day. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7363 - 23/06/2018 21:10:54 2114001 Link 1 |
