Division 2A & 2B

I was wondering if anyone is aware of the rules in regards to points for Division 2? We know that top 5 will break into Division 2A & bottom 5 into Division 2B but what points are allocated to each team? Also, in the event of level points, what way is this to be decided to which team finishes above? Is it head to head results? Points advantage? Or a playoff? Does anyone actually know?

From what I gather the top placed team starts section 2 on 4 points, 2nd on 3, 3rd on 2, 4th on 1 and the 5th placed team starts on 0. I'm not sure about teams that finish level. It should probably be a head to head system, although the league tables posted on here seem to go in order of overall points difference

Taken from Fermanagh GAA:

With only two games to go in the Division 2 Senior Football League the split into Division 2A and Division 2B will once again happen for the ten sides.

It was decided at the Fermanagh County Board meeting that in event of tie at end of Division 2 Phase 1 for 5th/6th place the following would apply this year:-

Two teams on equal points - a playoff will decide

More than two teams - scoring difference or if equal total scores for.

Lastly a Play off will be a last resort.

But this only attends to the 5th/6th (Div 2A/2B) issue, but it's very unclear what points are allocated to teams 2nd, 3rd & 4th if equal points & indeed 6th, 7th & 8th. This really this needs clarity before the final two games & not confirmed after the event.
