National Football League 2013

(Oldest Posts First)

So next Sunday is the start of a very competitive league campaign with a tough game down in Aughrim. The McKenna cup probably didn't answer as many questions as Canavan hoped but he learned about his players, some positive and some negative.

So what team would you pick for the Wicklow match? I(not prediction) think our strongest is

1.Chris Breen

2.Ryan Mc Cluskey

3.Barry Owens

4.John Woods

5. Conor Quigley

6. Shane Lyons

7. Marty O Brien

8. James Sherry

9. Ryan Jones

10. Daryl Keenan

11. Shane Mc Cabe (if Kille isn't injured would start him at centre half forward)

12. Eoin Donnelly

13. Paul Ward

14. Sean Quigley

15. Tomas Corrigan

Hardest decision could be where to deploy clucker,I have him at corner back but he could be more influential at 6 with Bogue coming in at cornerback, either way we look solid at the back. Its further up the field the problems could arise. Need to move the ball a lot quicker, wouldn't mind seeing Marty McGrath being put into full forward if were aren't creating chances, at least he could give target option along with Sean Quigley. Other players who can come on and impact are Damien Kelly, Tommy Mc Elroy and Eamon Maguire. Its vital Fermanagh get a decent start in opening two games be tough but possible. Wicklow will see this as ideal chance to get 2 points, they will however be missing Seanie Furlong who tormented us in league final, while reliable free taker Tony Hannon has retired and their best player Leighton Glynn is still injured. Lets hope we start with victory.

Many heading for Aughrim?
