Dermot Connolly Full Forward!

(Oldest Posts First)

For me Dermot Connolly should start at FF the next day. We all know at this stage that Keegans sole job is to stop Connolly from playing, by whatever means possible, legally or illegally. He literally sticks to Connollys shoulder for the entirety of the game. And if we're to be honest he has done a good job at stoping him play for the most part (although I actually thought Connolly played reasonably well the last day). I just think having him play FF for the first half would throw Mayo off a little. Would they bring Keegan back to a FB postion to mark him?? And if they did has Keegan ever played FB? We all know Keegan has the engine to match Connolly out the field but would he be as effective marking Connolly closer in to goal?? Either way I think this would cause a dilema for Mayo..and maybe even a bit of panic in that FB line. Thoughts?

100% agree Connolly needs to start full forward.

Yep
I agree
Been saying it for a while
But, be careful what you wish for as that would free Keegan up to do his usual trick of scoring 0-2 points a game, a threat we didnt face last week
I also think we need to move James Mc into MF for next year when Jack is back

Might be the only way JMcC gets a starting place, think he will have to prove himself to Gavin again.

Not sure about that

It's important that he almost completely cancels out Keegan and he was still as involved as any Dub forward

Setup one of the goals, scored a point on top of a few other contributions

Keegan's influence in an offensive manner is greatly reduced because of his man marking job on Connolly

That's a bigger loss to Mayo IMO than Connolly's reduced influence for Dublin
