John Small animal

(Oldest Posts First)

Probably the most amazing piece of football I ever seen in my life, Small and Boyle collided in around the Mayo half back line, Small was down for a few minutes in bits next thing he gets up not looking great and Cluxton aims a kick his way, I'm thinking "ah Jesus Cluko not Small he's in bits" the bleeding animal gets up and catches the thing over his head I couldn't believe what I was seeing. They don't make them soft out in Ballymun that's for sure.

Just look at the way Boyle went flying! He's some beast alright.

Very impressive.

Struggle to see Jack McCaffrey getting back in next year if he returns.

Small played well but you have to remember that Mcloughin played sweeper in the centre so it gave him freedom out wide.

I would like to see Small playing in the "Flynn Role" in the half forwards when Jack Mc and ROC come back next season. Worth and experiment in the O'Byrne cup I think. He could be the new Shane Ryan.

Wow! Is that true. Some call, fully justified now and great management though. Often the best performers with their club don't do it for county and vice versa.

Lovely down to earth lad as well, judging by his interview on the Sunday game.

Yeah he was being brought in as a sub around midfield in second half of games in ballymuns run to the all ireland club final a couple years back. Played minor and under 21 for Dublin though before

John Small has proven he is worth his spot. Personally, the unknown element is good as so many teams are prepared for individual battles. He'll be seen as a threat which could free up someone else to step up too. I'd imagine they'd have some plan to stop Fenton playing, they struggled to cope with him.

Jayzis when he pulled those Mayo boys off Connolly, like he was throwing old logs onto an open fire. I think he lifted Boyle? clean off the ground with his index finger. A beast of a youngfella. We need these lads to dish out the physical stuff the next day. We were a bit naive on Sunday.
