Seriously though

If he's under pressure he needs to send it long and hope for a 50/50

Better to lose it 60 yards out the field than hand top teams a 3 on 1 advantage from 20 yards out

It has to be said, he's in for more of the same v Mayo

This needs to be addressed

Anthony masterson defended him to the hilt on twitter. 18 good kick outs some of which were class. 2 bad ones. Cue tonnes of abuse. Who would be a keeper

I wouldn't worry too much about him to be honest.

He'll find a way.

He found the target 18 times out of 21. I actually think that Cluxton didn't see the Kerry player as there seemed to be another Dublin player blocking his view. I watched that closely when I was at the game and neither of the midfielders were showing for the ball so I'd lay some blame at their door too. Something to seriously work on. Mayo hammered us in the league in Castlebar a few years ago by pushing up on the kickouts. Clucko got rattled and was all over the shop.

Hope they do target the kick out, gaps everywhere, Mayo don't have the time, discipline to implement what kerry did yesterday.

Listen he made an error, his kick out have been flawless and foundation of our play for so long to much success, yesterday was human error, rather then the smoking gun to beat Dublin some seem to be suggesting.

Yea total faith in steo.

The fella made one major mistake all game apart from his kickouts where almost flawless. Even the greatest can have a mishap now and again

Everyone myself included takes him and his importance to how we play for granted. A major reason why we are in our 4th final in 6 years and have been so succesful.

The best there ever was.. the best there ever will be

It's not in his psyche to gamble with or waste possession and that has been the foundation of Dublin's recent success. He made an error on Sunday and we got punished. These things happen. Too many people seem to concentrate on the isolated bad and not on the consistent good (not on this thread, to be fair). Criticising him for the second goal is nonsense too - he went for a 50 / 50 ball with a bigger man and lost. If we criticised Fenton / Bastick / MDMA for that then they'd be vilified after every game.

Steo - keep up the brilliant work.

In Clucko we trust!

I don't think Mayo will be able to do the same with Cluxtons kick outs as Kerry. They only did it when they had a close in free and I saw Donaghy pushing the half back line into mid field. When Cluxton looked up Dublin were out numbered for the long ball. If it was to happen again Dublin half forwards would drop into mid field.

Cluxton, did fine 18 for 21 not bad at all, I agreed I don't think he seen him the back was blocking his vision, but I think Kerry seen something as they all started to push forward at the same time, and a long kick out could have been devastating our forwards were wide open. Great game Kev Mc was super well deserved MOM.
