New Manager needed

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well fair play to ye LC, cant believe they actually allowed your post to go through on this forum. I wrote a similar post basically expressing my sentiments on the current management, in particular, Mickey Whelan. My words basically echoed what you have stated, that his track record back in 1996 was enough to ensure he should never have been involved in this or any other Dublin Management team. Ive huge respect for Gilroy as a person, I believe he is a very sound fella and a decent guy but you have to be honest he was no ICON when playin intercounty football back in the 90s and I think thats what any Dublin team need. As for the coaching, the lads did not even look fit on occasions this year, so much the opposite to how primed Pillar had them. To me, the warm-ups before each game spoke volumes. I could not help but observe, youd have seen a more intense warm-up from a bunch of school kids. What I find so unfair is that the players get most of the flack and sadly if you are not receiving the proper coaching and instructions it augers badly for a winning combination. I could go on and on but I thank those players most sincerely for all the great days out and some of the spectacles they have given us and for their sakes more than anyone, I really hope that AI victory isent far away ( no matter what it takes!!!!).

If the Dub footballers were as good as their posters you would have no trouble winning an AIF.

Ye know something, the bitterness from the Mayo posters on this forum is unreal.....not to mention the utter sarcasm. Suppose 40 or is it 50+ years is a long long wait since winning an All Ireland, bless!!!! Ah the green eyed monster has to rear its ugly head....think youre least in a position to slag the Dubs footballers or their supporters......Id keep me mouth shut if I was from Mayo, 1951 is a long long time ago.......

Good man Liamo! I was reading through expecting to see my name attached to a Gilroy out post! Glad I had more sense or at least didn't see the thread at the time as I probably would be cringing right now if I had!

When Pillar left I was shouting to bring in an outside Kerry manager!

I wasn't too sure at all then about the DCB appointing Gilroy!

:)
