Monaghan Away

(Oldest Posts First)

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere lads/lasses - obviously a massive game with the way the league is poised. How is everyone planning on getting up? Obviously in an ideal world Bus Eireann will be good to go. Any posters know of any supporters buses organised?

Travel up by the M3 Cavan and on to Clones folks. It's about the same distance as going via M1/N2 to Monaghan but 90% of the home traffic will be coming in that way. You will have the other road to yourselves and see a bit of the country on the way.
If you're brave enough to set off the night before then Monaghan town or Carrickmacross are relatively civilized, good for a pint and a bit of pre match craic. Clones is the proverbial one horse town I'm afraid.
You'd better brush up on your country music and be able to arm wrestle if you're out to impress the Monaghan ladies though, it's just how they do.

I have a feeling this is going to be a good game interesting who Jim will go for in this game I am a huge fan of KilKenny but we seemed much quicker in attack the last day when he wasn't playing maybe something different and start KilKenny in the half back line for this one???. I doubt he will. No word on Cooper, mccarthy or small. What's the story with Cooper did he pick up an injury?

Same team named as was named for the roscommon game with James McCarthy still down at wing back, apparently he had a heavy cold Gavin stated that's why he wasn't involved on the match day last weekend, be interesting to see if he starts this time.

Monaghan deserve their lead Dean Rock missing a sitter free, and a sitter goal chance, Dubs wasteful so far, Monaghan with a slight wind advantage possibly helped them a bit, but our FF line are getting roasted so fair play to Monaghan

Monaghan the better team so far, just heard that Donegal are beating Mayo

As it stands Dubs will be out of final

Big 2nd half required from Dublin...

Jaysus

That was some game

Delighted with the win and although we were very sloppy and wasteful, Monaghan deserve huge credit, but the commitment of this Dublin team is outstanding, another come back, stick at it, and yet again this Dublin team proves their class.

Outstanding and on Dublin March

Anyone think we're missing too much pace up front? Please can Dubs on here stop doubting Kilkenny the man is class, he stood up big time when we needed him most. Where's Jonny Cooper? Savage game just what we needed roll on next Sunday can't wait. The Connolly black card was a shocker.

Excellent result considering we were 6pts down in the 2nd half.

Thought we were very sloppy and predictable at times.
Opened up at the back a few times also and we will need a major improvement if we are to beat the auld enemy next Sunday.

Think Jim will play a strong 15 next week and both counties will want to lay down a marker.
Jack looked like he picked up an injury scoring the goal and could well be a doubt for the Final.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully we get to see some good football and a good result.
Our league form has been patchy so hopefully we click into gear next week.

Great to get the win today.
looked in big trouble when six down as nothing was going for us
But sheer resilience for us going and last twenty minutes was great football.
felt Kilkenny and Fenton led the charge and brogan offered the outlet.
jack and James McCarthy really tore forward in last twenty and was done finish from Jack at end.
5th league final in a row to look forward to now.
