NHL Div2B 2014

(Oldest Posts First)

Fixtures are out with the 'home' fixture vrs Meath is the one that will decide who tops the group, (providing the GAA don't change anything yet again), but I see theres a 2B final on the 6th of April, does the winner go straight into 2A as there's no relegation battle between the 6th team in 2A and the top team in 2B that I can see.

The GAA certainly make it up as they go along.....

Bricktop not so sure about the last match being the decisive one. We need a good start and Armagh away is one that we need to send a message out, we also struggle against Wicklow and their physical presence.
Any word on retirements or new panellists yet, havent heard if the team are back training either.

As regards who goes up, last year London went up and Wicklow came down so I assume same again but as you say it could change before then

It nice to have three home games. Unfortunately we don't get going in the league until the 4th or 5th round of games and sometimes that's too late. We can compete with all the teams in division 2 A and it would be nice to be playing Westmeath, Carlow and Derry etc. versus the likes of Fingal (no disrespect, but we are CRC Champions). This is a harder league than many suspect. Remember it took a hard earned draw in Trim against Meath finally before beating them in the replay in Ballycran. Wicklow are very tough and we always struggle against them, they are physical and very organized and will be playing with a chip on their shoulder this year - some people's dark horse for the Christy Ring. Mayo and Armagh can be unpredictable and alway a potential banana skin. So Down be cautious.
