Today's meeting of the GAA's Central Council has decided to condense the schedule for the AIB All-Ireland club senior championships and move the senior finals next year from March 17 to a new date in January.
The GAA's Central Council has this morning unanimously agreed to send forward two separate proposals on the formation of a Tier 2 All-Ireland senior football championship out to the wider membership for discussion.
"To be very honest about it, our eyes were just on the Leinster final. The dates, and who we're going to play, we'll have to look at that over the coming days. Tonight for us is all about the Leinster final, celebrating that."
Emma Tumelty hit 1-07 as Westmeath were crowned All Ireland U14 Bronze Champions at a sun-drenched St Aidan's Templeport on Saturday afternoon. While Westmeath were six points ahead at the break, Derry pulled them back to a point before Westmeath upped the ante and raced to victory, claiming their first-ever All-Ireland U14 crown in the process.
