Well little motivation will be needed for Saturday evening anyway after the thrash talking in offaly papers. They will be on a revenge mission after last year. But if fire is met with fire we can force offaly to give up hurling ! Big home support needed.

Strong team, but a few peculiar omissions from the panel?

Don't understand why the oddsmakers have this match at 4/11 - 11/4.

Don't know what to expect.

Quiet enough build-up except, of course for the ridiculous eruption over at the Offaly Express. Most are fuming over the content and timing of that foolishness.

Hoping for a good game, expect it to be close. Best wishes, but obviously hoping we pull through.

Likewise Up Offaly hoping for a big game but hoping we get through. We clearly are not in the same form as last year and I imagine Offaly are in better shape.Nevertheless I expect a tight game. There are people in Offaly who forget that in your glory daysthe Westmeath hurling people were your biggest supporters.Offaly were the team we aspired to and we loved the wonderful lack of respect and beatings you gave the big boys.I imagine and hope the clown in the Offaly paper isnt a hurling man.

Cheers Jobber, the man who wrote the article has been identified as Rip Van Winkle. His long nap might make him unfit to comment on what has transpired since the early 2000's. As you point out, his manners are atrocious. Hoping for a good game.

Nightmare in cusak park I dont know what to say as regards what happened, mistakes are always made and goalies are always remembered for that one mistake but when it happens like it happened tonight not once but 3 times, no goalie worth his salt would turn their back to a ball like that no goalie the jogger has been keeping thst goals safe it had to give way at some stage, im sorry but it has to be said if we have any chance in the qualifier

How many ways can you throw away a game?
It seems 3 at least for Westmeath.
Comical stuff in goals, in defence and on the side line this evening

I always knew we would regret all the chances we missed in the first half. Absolutely shocking soft goals we let in.... Talk about a collapse. It's very disappointing to lose that game. We just don't have that killer instinct which is needed to win tight games. Hopefully the footballers get revenge in a few weeks!

Bit harsh I think. They were the hungrier team from start to finish. First half wides cost us as 5 point lead against that wind wasn't enough. But they never gave in even after losing 3 Poxy goals. Missed a target man up front ourselves until murtagh came in and even not fit he caused havoc. Tough to take the defeat the way it came all right but they gave everything and should be proud of that. Who knows in the qualifiers what they can do. Iarmhi Abu.
