At an intermediate championship match this evening, and the referee turned up with 1 linesman, and two umpires..... what's that GAA motto, Give respect, get respect..... obviously doesn't work both ways

To meet your standards a referee must be able to persuade 6 people to travel with him to each championship game he referees. That isn't always possible. Get over it.

That is disgraceful. I honestly believe they should bring back capital punishment for such crimes. Imagine only being able to find 3 additional volunteers to give up their evening to get soaked and receive abuse from other grown men and women at a football match. Shame on them.

Westmeathfan & midfield9... I'm sure they wouldn't be long turning up to a Senior one or to get free into Cusack Park!

"Give Respect - Get Respect is an awareness campaign that seeks to ensure that Gaelic Games are promoted and played in a positive, fair and enjoyable manner and where Players, Coaches, Spectators and Referees Give Respect - Get Respect from each other." *

* Spectators are excluded from this campaign when a referee only turns up with 3 others to help him.

This is great news! Cusack Park has now a fully covered pitch and also county board officials muzzle spectators as they go in. So much has changed since I was in it last week.

What difference does it make where you are if you're going to get soaked and abused?

Be a good lad and write up your contact details so every referee knows who to ring when they are short.

Let us know what voluntary positions you hold with your club or what referee you umpire for?

Bottom team relegated. St Mary's unless they beat kinnegad next Saturday.

Shandonagh completely outclassed the bridge yesterday in the park in terrible conditions, definitely will give rosemount a run for their money in the final game who seem to be struggling the last few games. The dark horses of the championship it seems to me.

If 2 teams finish level on points at the bottom then there is a playoff

You don't need to worry, the referee I deal with has my contact details and I haven't missed a game in either rain or shine!

Should be as you cant be 'put out' or down from a head to head

You sure?
I thought the wording was that you couldn't be eliminated from the championship on scoring difference or head to head. I think you can be relegated though.

Great win for Kilbeggan. Either Tubberclair or Malachys going to junior.
