Well Johnny blowhard - How do you see the games going on Sunday? For me no contest, another Down v Cork final. Predictions Sunday - Down by 4pts and Cork by 8pts.

Should be two tough semi-finals on Sunday. Cork will probably be too strong for Cavan. The other game could be a very close affair.

John - Got the Cork Cavan game exactly right. Cork won by 8 points. Have to admit to being surprised by Leitrim. They won well in spite of the worst half back line.

The NY GAA took another dip the other night with Armagh failing to take the field in intermediate final. No club should not be allowed to get away with this. Whether they are suspended at this point or not dosen't matter, supporters of both teams and supporters of gaelic games were let down. They were the loosers on the day. Hopefully this will get resolved but well done to Mayo for their effords.

fixing a replay on a tuesday night 2 days after the final when it could have been played before the senior final sunday is a joke

It was explained at the meeting yesterday that the teams had the options of playing: Tuesday night; Wednesday Night; Thursday night; Friday night; or Saturday. Sunday was ruled out because two football finals cannot be played on the same day. When Armagh would not agree to any the game was then scheduled for the date on which it had been originally scheduled since August26. Both clubs had reps. at all the meetings leading up the playing of the final and raised no question.
Then came the height of hypocricy: The team that did not take the field for the Tuesday game then lodged two objections against players who played Sunday on the other team. A case of holding the other team to rules of the association but....fill in the rest yourself.

Bad game yesterday, a bit exciting alright but overall it was poor. I saw Brian Mullins in the crowd, was he scouting for Pat Gilroy doubtful I'would say. This match was just another example of the defend at all costs mentality in modern day football. The players tried their best and were decent enough. The lack of scoring was due to overcrowded areas within the scoring sectors which left the forwards with little chance for a decent shot and the lack of scoring potential on either side. The ref did a fair job considering his lack of ability to cover ground. What kind of side will New York have against Mayo and how many of yesterdays finalist panels would be eligible to play for New York.

Very little talk on here from all the so called experts as to who would win the NY championship. Seems like the Dublin man John11 was right all along.
