I assume were talking about the minor team of 2011 which is the relevent year for next years u21 team ?

The jump from minor to u21 is huge. The same guys who were the main players on a minor team might not be the main players three years later once they get to u21. Kildare should have a useful team next year with Niall Kelly, Hyland and Brophy still involved but other guys will have to step up if they're to have a good shot at retaining Leinster. There should be be a few of this year's minors involved but it's going to be a huge step up for them.

I think underage success can only be measured on how fruitful these lads are at senior level. Underage success guarantess nothing at senior level.

If young lads at any level win a title (even just a Leinster) it has to be seen as a measure of success!
Anyone with any kind of an interest in Kildare football would have to be very happy with the progress made at underage level, evident with Leinster titles.

If we won Sam you'd be saying we should be winning it every year.... to be successful !!

Mickmoore you must know the team if you say Flynn was the only one from last year minor, what are you fishing for or maybe your are from Maynooth and you only knew Flynn was playing because he told you.

I haven't heard too much about them I don't even know who is on the panel I am sure its strong after winning Leinster last year. I am sure Tom Cribben and his selectors will put best team out on the Championship in March. They are playing in Celbridge V Roscommon on Saturday at 6.30 I may go up and have a look.

I would imagine Cribben would have a pretty big panel at the moment not only from minor and last year's u21 team. Would think he's using the Hastings cup to try out guys outside of those teams ? Can't see Wayne Fitzpatrick not being on the u21 team either.

no didnt know the team, was told flynn was the only minor, no, wasnt sure whether it was neil or luke. just thought that there would be more on it after winning leinster last year. in sayin that must be strong enough if there are no other minors on it.

Disappointing to see 15 of the 20 are from north kildare. Hope its not just going to be a north kildare u21 team. Some lads there arent up to it i feel

very north influenced alright. no sash players who are county champs. no towers, suncroft, rathangan, monasterevin, na fianna, ballykelly, ellistown, tmh, 1 moorefield (sub).

To be fair,

How many teams through the years we're packed with south players.

Anyway,

I don't get the whole north / south thing. Kildare is one county.

Always seems to be the south who raise issues like this also.

+1

The best players will be picked regardless of where they're from. Kildare underage teams recently have always had a great spread of players. Also lots of smaller clubs represented on these teams in recent years which is great to see.
