Where did you hear that Belclare? It must be from Brisbane. It's not April fools day for 7 months yet.

I think some are forgetting we have a manager/management team in place until officially confirmed otherwise, a bit of respect for him/them isn't too much to ask surely?

Any rumblings on the formation of their backroom team?

Sorry to burst Bellclare's inner circle of misinformation but kw is going nowhere. End of the debate.

Free taker of the quality of rock and oshea is not in Galway at present but there are better options than walsh....mchugh while better than walsh on frees is not up to it for intercounty level general play. Finnerty (salthill) has a great record in the club championship and previously with the under 21s that went to the all ireland final. Need to give him a run of games and see how he holds his own in general play

This debate will not go away. Kevin is a great guy, an outstanding servant of Galway football and hugely respected for what he did as a player and to bring us from the doldrums as a manager but he hasn't advanced us since and we desperately need new ideas, new leadership. 5 years was more than enough. Thanks Kevin but everywhere needs change from time to time and Galway football does now - please respect that.

In fairness he has got our respect but put in to propestic. Kevin has had 5yrs and as I said before for the first two he has brought on the team. That said there are better players there presently with this management than there was with previous management. Don't get respect for KW and the overwhelming views on this forum that Kevin has had his time.. Those views are coming from people who want to see Galway footballers been a force again.

A lot of guess work in here. Whatever happens Kevin deserves gratitude and respect for the leaps and bounds this team has come on under his guidance.

People have short memories... Before he took over we were lingering in Div2, making no inroads against the top teams and couldn't buy a Connacht title. That's all changed now. Affective tactics and structure was an alien concept before 2015... remember the Mayo games of 13' & 14', lost sheep out there.

Granted we've stagnated in 2019 and I do believe it is time for a change of guard but the lack of respect in here for one of the all time great Galway football servants is staggering!!!

Replying To johnterry:  "The point is you need to be nailing the frees. McHugh is the best at this in Galway.
Mike Meehan, PJ and even Finnegan nailed the pressure ones and kept us in games at times. We should have a Sean O'Shea/Rock in Galway. Cooke is a great option but seems to need to nail the first few, outside of that Leonard from Corofin, Shane Walsh is like Conroy you just cant be sure how they'll go on the day. Has anyone any other suggestions."
A couple of years ago I would have agreed that McHugh was the best free taker in Galway but I think Jason Leonard is ahead of him now.

All Ireland semi final two years ago and a solid division 1 team. We have to write-off this year with all the injuries,so let's give him one more year with a full panal hopefully and then judge them.

Ya Also remember beating Kerry 2yrs ago. Where are Kerry today. You and a small minority are trying to make out this is a personal attack on KW. Look at the bigger picture. We won Connacht titles against an aging mayo team with no Donaigh Buckley. Roscommon have won last 2 Connacht titles. When we did win Connacht we went out in a whimper against tipperary and Monaghan. If we got Donaigh Buckley with KW I would say yes give him another year, but Buckley would have to be in charge of tactics

Both of them are top quality. Managements decision to have neither in the first 26 is riduculous

Another year? He brought us along well the first few years but it has definitely stalled. Our core group of players are at the perfect age now for a new man to come in and put his own stamp on things. Giving Walsh another year is delaying the inevitable. Does anyone honestly think he can challenge for an All Ireland? In each of his seasons we've been sent packing from championship in embarrassing fashion bar maybe year 1 v Donegal. But even still we were hammered that day. Something has got to change in the senior setup because we're not progressing anymore even though there's a serious group of young players there with even more due to come through in the next 1-3 years.

I agree with your main point there but a lot of your facts are badly wrong. Donie Buckley was with Mayo until Horan came back and he's now with Kerry. We won Connacht in 2018, not the Rossies. Also, we didn't get knocked out by Monaghan.

It is important to look at Kerry and how far they have come on though. We've had underage teams put it up to them so our young talent honestly can't be that far off. We had a comfortable win that day really but we've only gotten worse since while Kerry have made serious improvements. A team as young as ours shouldn't be getting worse. And yeah, it's not a personal attack at KW. He has done Galway a great service as player and manager, but it's just time to change tact.

You're neglecting one key aspect there. Mayo were a serious outfit 2011-2015. They declined slowly 2016-2019, leaving Galway & Roscommon to split 4 Connacht titles. You'd like to think that if we progressed in 'leaps and bounds' as you assert, then we'd have taken all 4 of those recent titles, and Ros would have none. Sorry Ros!!
