Connacht Final 2019

Replying To Barnowl94:  "The Connacht final probably won't be much of a spectacle for football fans.
The Rossies are using the same tactics we did last year ie packing the middle of the field , sucking their opponents half backs up the field and leaving space for their 3 attackers.
We will probably be cuter than Mayo were in countering these tactics but it won't be pretty, especially if it's another windy day in the Stadium ."
Couldn't agree more. Expecting a dour, pure daub affair. I expect to be tired and rattled from the night before up in Dublin watching the hurlers get bet so the connacht final may very well be the thing to pu tme asleep abroad in the terrace.

Lets not even start on them lads. Davy Glennon and the likes. We'd be here all day and the wifes shouts to tell me come down for the dinner would fall on deaf ears.

Can't see Cummins getting another chance after Sligo display. O Laoi should start as he offers more work rate. Conroy could be a chance to start.

I find it strange that Kevin Walsh and the whole setup seem to be at pains to say that Comer is not available for the final. Never seen them go out of their way in interviews to rule a player out like they have in the last week or so. Wouldnt be surprised to see him make the bench for the final, he didn't look too far away from action when he was out kicking with Conroy for the warm up against Sligo.

Maybe that's the plan, let Roscommon think that Comer won't be playing and either start him or introduce him off the bench. TBH i don't think those old school mind games work anymore.

The team that started v Sligo will probably have up to 13 same starters with maybe Cillian McDaid,Martin Farragher given starts on June 16th.

Comer definitely won't start but wouldn't be surprised if he got 15 mins at the end maybe.

Would be great if he got a light run out in the last 15m. Comer would be well primed for the business end of mbaile matters.

Can't see this been a case of Galway been in cruise control in the last quarter. Wishful thinking. This will be a right good battle. Bring it on!

As long as the injury is progressing I'b be happy. Seems to have taken a very long time. My big fear is that it is not right and further surgery or something has to happen hence end of season. I have no basis or information to support that fear.....it is just a fear:-)

If we have him back for Super 8's firing on all cylinders i'd be happy ......and if we can't qualify for that stage without him then we have no business being there.

They have done reasonably well in the league and championship without Comer, will be surprised if he plays at all. Maybe an injury time sub or something.

Ankles are notorious fickle.Gather he is progressing fine but Connacht final is probably a week or two to soon. Then their is the whole issue of match sharpness .You'd imagine they would like to see him play a club league game first .

Comer and Conroy should chill for the Connacht Final, not fit enough to mix it up with with the Rossies.

Word is than the injury jinx has hit Ultan Harney again
he injured his knee in A v B game
Good strong player will be a loss for the Rossies

As the late great Paidi O'Se once said a grain of rice could tip the scale. In what was expected to be a close encounter that huge blow to Roscommon one week before the provincial decider could well swing the balance of this final now.

This is not a benefit to Galway. It is better he plays as he is liable to do anything as evidenced by his actions against Corofin and in the national league against Tyrone (he probably cost Roscommon their division one stautus for next year).
