Reversepass1 and Mayonman you do realise that Mayo must first beat Roscommon and I think a side that beat Galway by 9 points in Salthill just 2 years ago deserve a bit more respect.

Very true gaa_lover(usa). Should have said connacht final.Cunningham will have rossies up for the game. He has improved their strength and conditioning in a big way and that was their Achilles heel in last year's super 8's. They'll give mayo a severe test but whether they can beat mayo in castlebar is debatable. They certainly have a chance with their natural forwards and if mayo are not firing in all cylinders, they could be beaten by roscommon

Their S&C might have improved but they don't seem to be getting much use out of it. Spent the entire FBD Final and D1 fixture rolling on the floor.

There is plenty of Parking in Sligo on all routes to the pitch. From the Galway side you can come off at the first exit on the dual carriage and there is parking along the road from Clifford Electric. The fields there are usually open also for a small fee. The last I was there was at the Sligo V Galway U21 Connacht final we parked at the large retail park by KFC, McDonalds and Smyths (that may be limited on a Sunday afternoon). You can also come off at the next exit and park in the housing estates (Crozon Park area). Traffic will be heavy from Curry in as you are in the heartland of Sligo GAA, Curry, Tubbercurry, and Tourlestane, the traffic from Eastern Harps and Enniscrone area will join at Tubbercurry. The rest of the traffic will join at the Colloney roundabout at the dual carriage way. The Traffic from North Sligo (Cliffoney, Grange, Mullaghmore, Rosses point and Drumcliff) parking shouldn't impact on Galway parking

McDaid, Conroy, Varley and Kyne are all back in full training. Some obviously further along than others. I've no idea where you get your info from.

Probably attitudes likes this one as to why Galway got caught with their pants down and type of story you won't want repeated i'm sure in the future.

McDaid among the Galway subs along with Martin Farragher. Good to see.

Provided we don't take any chances whatsoever - 14 behind the ball, even when unnecessary - it has to be Galway. Galway 4-22 Sligo 1-11. Can't wait...

Should win by more than 10. If we want to be treated like All Ireland contenders and people's 5th or 6th strongest county in Ireland, its time to act like it.

Hes very hard to listen to. Scoring 5 points in a half of football v Sligo is desperate stuff

Same! But in fairness, this is actually one of his better efforts. It definitely helps that the estimable Frank Morris is in the box with him.

Poor game, that said I had the distinct impression the lads were there to get a job done and no more. And get the job done they did.

Onwards and upwards.

Gaillimh Abú!

And well done Martin! Up Corofin!

Not a great game but lots of positives. FOC looked lively at times . Farragher will have a massive confidence boost after that short but oh so sweet introduction . Mcdaid and brannigan making an appearance too. Plenty to work on

Hoping Kieran has a speedy recovery

Won by 13 points but very harsh scoreline on Sligo. 2 goals in a minute midway through the 2nd half and 1-2 during injury time glossed the scoreline for Galway.

This Galway side at the moment lets be honest are not All Ireland contender and their objective should be to reach another AI semi final which could be more difficult to do this summer if they don't win Connacht.

On the one hand, Sligo parked the bus, even when they held the weather gage in the first half, so it was always going to be hard to score against them. Add to that, the fact they played out of their skins and you're left with a situation where most teams would struggle to score.

That said, Galway's wife count was daft, and they went a full quarter of the second half without scoring, or even really trying to, but when they got their goal chances they took them. They never got out of first gear for most of the game and I'm fairness they didn't need to; Sligo playing defensively never threatened. So I'm a way, this score line slightly flatters Sligo to be honest, the result was never in doubt.

Yes but you are allowed to get two goals in a minute . You say it as if it's not allowed.
I'd be the first to criticise but thought Galway deserved to win by 10 or more today. Same team that reached an AI semi final last year but with a few more Corofin players, should be trying to get to an AI final at least!? We are missing a few key players at the moment as well, missing them more than we would I believe.
