Thought of keeping it safe by going with the favourites, but with the state of Galway Club Football (Corofin 6 in a row and complete different Class to the others) ... anything is possible in the other 3 Quarter Finals even draws, extra time or upsets!

Defeats for Barna, Leitir Moir and Killererin put them into the relegation round robin series. Bottom two clubs are relegated.

Wins for Tuam Stars and Moycullen in the quarter-finals. Both into the semis.

Toman, any chance that you could respect the man and spell 'Pearse' correctly? If it weren't for the man neither of us wouldn't be playing GAA most likely.

Spideal will have nightmares about today's match for a long time. Even without there best forward o Laoi they should have made the semi. Still they have a lot to look forward to as a young team.

Any stand out players in the 1/4 finals? Only had limited access this weekend to coverage.

A lot of missed chances unfortunately, including 4 scoreable frees. An Spidéal dominated the second half, but left a lot of scores behind. It's been a very good year, but that was a great chance to make a semi final.

Ref in Barna v St. James' was making rules up as the games went on. Unbelievably incompetent display. James' definitely the better team throughout but got caught out and almost lost by conceding the 2 late goals. Barna will be annoyed that 2 mins added time was announced but about 5 played. In reality I think the announcement was wrong because there definitely wasn't only 2 mins to be added on. Barna should still have enough to stay up and James' will be happy to put a difficult season behind them where things just haven't seemed to fall their way.

Corofin won't be bet. The were in 2nd heat all day yesterday. Corofin are getting better and all the other teams are getting worse. It's bad when the likes of spideal can be competitive (who got well bet in all Ireland series)

Wont be exposed by a team in Galway but Corofin's defense was very poor yesterday, gave away 5 or 6 good goal chances. Barry McHugh should have had at least two goals only for saves from Power and Michael Daly missed a one on one in the first half. Martin Farragher outstanding for Corofin.

Moycullen with Cooke the only chance to get close to them now.

Think Killererin may have too much for Barna having already beaten them. Barna seem to have lost a few players to injury over recent months and are struggling.

Killererin have no hope of beating Barna just held on with a full 15 available the last day and were awarded 2 penalties. 15 or 16 goals leaked in last 5 games including 7 in one game v intermediate team. There demise should be a reminder to all rural clubs who will go the same way shortly. Killererin have won 4 of the last 19 country titles and also got to a few Connacht finals in that time. After 51 years on senior they simply no longer have the numbers and can barely field a team. 10 or 12 at most training sessions. They will be one of the favourites to drop to junior next year as Lettermore are probably the only team they might beat. Milltown's days are also numbered having survived with 3 points this year an a miracle of maths. Amalgamation is the only hope for most rural teams now. Corofin are in a class of their own and deserve great credit at the other end of the pile.

Corofin will walk the county final.

Was expecting a lot more from MM yesterday considering they had spent the weekend prior at a training camp in UL. Hard to believe Joe BErgin is still playing ball at his age. Claregalway should have got over the line against Salthill but to be quite honest it may be a blessing - Salthill havent a prayer against Corofin. Finnerty corner back and Maher midfield are decent players but CG couldnt get their forwards on the ball for long enough to impact the 2nd half.

Its 2 or 3 years too early for this Salthill team before they can hope to fire a shot against Corofin imo. Lucky enough to beat Claregalway. The core of the SK team are U21 (Maher, Finnerty, Tinney, Sweeney, McFadden, the Culhanes, evan murphy to come back next year you would think) with a few experienced heads like Hanley, G. Armstrong , McTiernan, Rob Butler and Gavin Duffy adding experience. Would have had a good shot v Tuam or Moycullen but can't see anything but a 10 pt win for Corofin.

Tuam or a Kelly & Cookeless Moycullen will be very underwhelming finalists aswell. Much like Dublin and the all ireland, It would be an unreal tight championship with 6 or 7 seriously contenders if Corofin didn't exist!

Before we start bemoaning the state of our senior club football let's remember that corofin walked the last two all ireland finals. It's not that the other teams are that bad it's that corofin are that good. They are trashing teams in AI finals. Plenty of our senior teams would be win senior titles in other counties

Hoping that moycullen get to the final and we throw the kitchen sink at them. They have had off days every so often and no team has been able to capitalise on it because even on an off day they are pretty damn good
