Shane Walsh took an insane amount of time to kick the 45, the Referee despite a few bizzare decisions got one right in this instance. Fairly evident Walsh backed himself to kick the 45 and was merely running down the clock to minimise the time afforded to Claregalway to level. I think all these instances of poor sportsmanship need to punished on a more regular basis if possible. the time wasting we see in the first half of fixtures with anything bordering on a 3 on the Beaufort scale is very off putting.

On the game itself, have to feel their is more improvement to come from Kilkerrin. Claregalway looked to be very well drilled and used numbers to overcome their lack of a physical presence across the back line. This was counter intuitive given Cummins spent most of the game out around the middle but looked lethal whenever he got forward. Kilkerrin will need to develop a plan to deal with Claregalways big midfielder. Claregalway will need to focus more resources on stopping Shane Walsh, with the caveat however that Kilkerrin also have a few capable forwards who didn't feature on Sunday owing to the blanket employed by Claregalway

Hard to imagine Claregalway can direct more resources to shutting down Walsh. Often times they had 2 sweepers and a specific player detailed to man mark SW - alas no matter how hard they tried it was a bridge too far. In the 2nd half, particularly the latter stages of the 2nd half they pulled back even more players to try and stifle Shane and cut out any space for him to burst into and get the shot away but again it proved to be a total waste. They played the 2nd half on our terms which we were more than happy about.

I wouldnt be surprised to see them take a more aggresive approach for the replay. Aim to beat us in a shootout and keep Cummins and Moran closer to goal to compliment the small corner forward who did cause us some concerns - in any case it should make for a very exciting game of football and let the better team win.

Credit to both sides how there was no dirty stroke pulled in ager on Sunday evening. 2 honest teams going at it hammer and tongs for a place in the final. Sadly, the referees performance didnt live up but that is life.

Tremendous claim to have attended both games even though the game in Pearse stadium didn't finish until the second half was underway in Tuam.

Surprised you aren't still togging yourseld Austin, you must be the fastest man in the country to be in Salthill for the Aran game and make it out to Tuam for the Kilkerrin match

Clonberne expect to be in a final. That is why its very important to have as much homework done on all teams as possible.

You'll need to explain that? The video only shows him taking the kick. Not how long he was standing around before it.

The video shows Shane placing the ball and then stepping back. There was no delay before that when the ball was kicked out to him for the 45. The ref blew it up because he said he took too much time after that. I was at the game and heard the explanation

That kick took around 90 seconds. I'm not saying that's too long or too short. It was an important kick. Players were jostling and pushing for ages. But it wasn't six seconds or anywhere close to that. I've no idea why he blew up after the throw up. Or why he blew up at 33 minutes when the fourth official said there would be four minutes added. But all I'll say about free kicks in all codes is if a corner back had a ball in his own twenty one and delayed taking a free the ref would blow for a throw up after 10 seconds never mine 90.

Would ya go away with your 90 seconds.he took all of 16 seconds like he did with everyother free he hit the same day.no hop ball for aby if this frees I might add.

Truly awful call from the ref and even the claregalway lads I was sitting beside said the same thing.

He did take roughly over a minute and we accept Shanes wrong doing.

We have moved on as a team and club and suggest others do the same.

It was a good thing he took so long Austin, you might have missed the whole thing coming from Pearse Stadium only for it!

Kilkerrin Clonberne by 5 points. They will sort out midfield issues by some personnel changes, avoid giving Claregalway easy kick outs and get better return from their forward line. Claregalway are a couple of years off being a good team once more of their quality minors come through.

Cant see anyone on the K/C panel being able to stop the big midfielder who was lording the kickouts the last day abroad in Tuam which was the key difference between the two teams in the first 45 mins imo with K/C only coming back into the game when the big man got his marching orders.

Also, If K/C stand any chance in the replay Shane Walsh will have to produce a carbon copy of his previous performance. Amazing and all as Shane Walsh is inconsistency is his Achilles heel. Some personnel changes in the Claregalway Half back line with a perhaps more mobility there to counter Walsh's marauding runs and shore up the Cg defence a wee bit which should see them win by 5 points imo with Cummins bagging a few goals.

Also just touching on the Aran appeal - have heard from a few people close to the club they are confident of the result being turned over and apparently have social media evidence. You just wouldn't know with these things though and I'd be mindful of the fact the nuclease of power when it comes to decision making in the Galway Football hierarchy lies far away from Aran Islands and is situated somewhere closer to North Galway ;-)
