Galway GAA supporters will have to choose between two big games involving their senior footballers and hurlers on Saturday week.

Still basking in the warm afterglow of last Sunday’s dramatic Connacht SFC final victory over Mayo, Padraic Joyce’s footballers will host Allianz League champions Derry at Pearse Stadium in Round 1 of the All-Ireland SFC at Pearse Stadium at 5.30pm. Just a couple of hours earlier – 3pm – the Galway hurlers will be in action against Antrim in the Leinster SHC in Corrigan Park, Belfast.

The Galway minor hurlers will also face either Kilkenny or Kildare for a place in the Leinster final on the same afternoon.
