Under 21 / Minor 2015

Just want to wish the clare minors the best of luck tomorrow evening. Its a strong looking team with a number of last years team involved. But as always at minor level it is hard to know how well a team is going to do because we dont really know a great deal about the opposition teams. in terms of the clare team anyway theres a few very good players involved, firstly aaron shanagher was a star in last years team and is probably one of the best at this grade in the country, hes an excellent forward and free taker with great pace. jason mccarthy the other wing forward is another outstanding talent, he played corner back last year - showing his class and versatility in moving into the forward line this year - looks the full package. nathan fox at centre back is a quality player - has everything required for the position and a leader as captain as well. lastly our goalkeeper jason loughnanne is one of the best young keepers ive seen. i would expect him to be our next permanent senior goalkeeper as i think he is better than all the other lads who have played minor and under 21 in recent years.

They are the 4 stand out players in my opinion and i think we will be seeing them grace the senior team in the coming years - best of luck to them.

hex i have not seen much of them to be honest and word is Tipp are good but i think its vital we have another good minor side again as we dont want the 2010-2012 teams to be once off, we need to keep the conveyor belt flowing. you seem confident so fingers crossed!!

Have seen them all playing , few good hurlers there no doubt, Daly at full foward very good,, Best minor I have seen this year is from Clarinbridge in Galway Evan Niland, a real class act...

there seems to be a lot of grief towards the minor mgmt team today and if im honest, last year too, didnt see the game but people saying team is mismanaged and poor preparation and selection...anyone at the game could shed light of it?

Hurlingexpert was way off the mark , the 4 players he mentioned , No way, the stall was set out wrong from the word go, playing with a strong breeze and only one point from play,, corner foward back around his own D, shooting for points from midfield, in all fairness Clare and their set up were hurled off the park,, but as the man said there is always next year,.. Kennedy from Kilmayley is a lovely foward fast feet and good balance with a bit of cutting..you learn by mistakes they say ,, the Clare minor set up made a lot of them ....

a lad one was at the game said forwards were picked as backs and vice versa and that a good group of players totally mismanaged. My question is how did they get reappointed after such a poor record?

Colm Fitz. Nice handy hurler , Good balance, Fast feet,, pointed a couple of frees and cut over a side line,, say corner foward would be his best position.. tricky little fellow, yea he is good ,.....

Bit unfair on the Clare minors who wont get a second chance,, Tipp now have at least two more games,, luck of the draw I suppose but it dosent seem fair on Clare,,,

haha i dont think anyone from clare who was at the game even knew that i said anything and i can assure you anyone that did couldnt care less. what did i get wrong anyway? one loss doesn't make someone a bad player, especially when it was against a strong looking team by 4 points. the first half or even first 40 mins were where we lost that game. the fact that tipp had played the extra game really stood to them in the first half of that game. i have seen a good few of those clare lads playing for the last 4 years and i stand by my comments.
you on the other hand haven't got a scooby doo.

Dunno if you want to hear this Hexpert but no one thinks this is a good Tipp team. An average Limerick team beat waterford easily enough and waterford pushed Tipp all the in thurles. Standard of minor c ship well back on last few years.

im sure a lot of people think they are a good team, just because no one has said it to you doesn't actually mean no one!!!

and you've been around long enough to know every game is different, so that comparison doesn't really add up in sport. it as im sure you will acknowledge is certainly not as black and white as your comment may seem. especially when it is 17 and 18 year old we are talking about. im not having a go at you, im just making the point.

No one thinks this is a good tipp minor team. Anyone in the know will tell you that whoever wins between Limerick and cork will win Munster. The fact that people think Limerick could win the munster c ship says it all. This years Limerick team isnt half the team last years minors were. Be in denial all you like that is the opinion of those in the know. Clare were in hard luck that they were not in round robin so maybe a second chance would have brought them on but this is not a good munster minor c ship.

well look thats fair enough but im just commenting on what ive seen and that game was the only minor game ive seen this year. i just thought they looked good for the most part and i think they have 3 very impressive players in brian mcgrath at center back, darragh carey at midfield and the gleeson lad at full forward. i wouldnt be surprised to see them win it, as with a strong spine like that i cant see them been beaten too easily. minor is hard to judge as they are only young lads and anything can happen in these games. but then again i dont seem to be one of "those in the know" so my comments seem to be irrelevant.

No ones opinions are irrelevant no need to be ultra sensitive. This an open forum and everyone's opiniins are up for discussion. It is true to say that cork or a much poorer limerick than last 2 years are favs for Munster.

hexpert I have to agree with dissill this minor championship is well bk from last few years and i think you might be getting a small bit carried away with clare I think the winner of munster will come from cork limk semifinal....altho tipp will be at home which has to help.
