Pennypincher - yes Sean was back in training last night.

Great to see Gannon back training last night. Unlikely he will be starting Sunday, would be unfair on those who were there all along. Good option off bench if needed.

With Molloy out, i'd go with a Fb line of Mernagh Lawlor Kavanagh, and a hb line of Nolan Hayden Redmond.

Forgot Conor is out too, we are short at the back. Maybe bring Martin Doyle or Kevin Byrne in so at leave Mernagh at fb.

I would be very surprised if the half back line of Bolger , Hayden and Nolan was changed barring an injury to any of them. I would say Shane Mernagh will be back at full back with Benny and perhaps that new chap from Clonmore starting instead of Barry John? Cant see any changes up front or in midfield to be honest with Ray playing in his new role of sweeper. I also couldnt see Sean Gannon starting or even being brought in as a sub. I think it would cause huge problems for the management if that happened.

Carlow will hope to put pressure on the rest of the promotion contenders with a victory here. three outa three

Iagree with Dual Supporter. They will not use Gannon yet. He needs to get a few training session under his belt first. Same as any team. If you dont train how could you be considered?

Yeah all happy with Gannon return. The fact that he was college-tied like lawlor i(and excused from county traning) would be acceptable to Rainbow so he may well feature at some stage on Sunday.

Heard Ware left the panel because of no game time but thats a bad attitude to have, his time would have come - prob this year. Ware and Hayden's performances were a huge factor in eire og winning the SFC last year.
Hopefully we see a change of heart like Gannon.

Leitrim half-forward playmaker Andrew Croal is expected to line-out against Carlow on Sunday - whoever we play at Left half back will need to have plenty of pace!!!

Fullbach, don't know much about many of this Leitrim team but what u say about this wing forward are you suggesting that Bolger won't be able to handle him. Maybe B. Kavanagh should play there so. Because I don't think we have an awful amount of pacy backs in the wing positions.

We have won by the bare minimum in our first two outings so we cant afford to take Leitrim for granted - as I stated here before they will come to DCP targetting the 2 points - we absolutely cannot be complacent - they have lost their first two outings and will be looking for a win - all teams in this division are capaple of beating each other - it is a lot more competitive than is given credit for. If we want to challenge for promotion we need to win all our home games - tough tests still lie ahead.

good to see St Ledger may be available for selection - a consistent long range dead ball specialist is an absolute must in the modern game - despite his critics, his absence is fully apparent when not available.

Fullbach - i agree with most of your post not sure about your theory on Sean Gannon though - i personally dont think he should play any part in next Sundays game v Leitrim. I agree its a pity Murtagh felt he had to go - he is a good player but at the end of the day there has to be subs on every team. He should have waited and taken his chance when it came as it would surely have done. Now perhaps there is more to his going than we know and maybe he felt he wasnt going to get that chance?

Team and subs for Sunday. No sign of D. St. Ledger or S. Gannon. Not sure if Ray Walker at 14 means he will play in forwards as S. Redmond is at 10 and surely won't be a forward but could played be sweeper? 10 is the number Walker wore in first two games when sweeper.

Thanks for that Onion Breath. No surprises really. We could nearly name the team ourselves here at this stage. Daniel must be still injured as he is not in the subs either.

Carlow will need a settled team if they are to maintain their promotion challenge. Rainbow's debut season is going nicely.

after a good start in the division this year 2 wins from 2 can we dream about promotion if we beat leitrim this weekend there seems to be a committed squad of players there at the moment with some good work been done at present rainbow seems to be doing a good job. With ray walker into full forward a redmond now acting as a sweeper we seem to have a full forward line that is both big in size and also good footballers who can take a score and play a bit with conor lawler and daniel st. ledger to come back this is shaping up to be a very nice carlow team for the year who i think will be there or there abouts when it comes to business end of this years league.

Shane Redmond is midfield with Darragh Foley, Brendan is Full forward. Ray Walker is still playing the sweeper role which he has excelled at in the past two games. Worried about Young Murphy in the corner looks very raw but havent seen a whole lot of intermediate football in carlow in the last 5/6 years so i cant really comment on him. Think we will beat leitrim on Sunday and promotion looks a very distinct possibilty this year. just hope the panel sticks together and pushs forward after all the hard work.

Seems like a decent team for tomorrow with the usual exception!! If (and a big 'if') thats true about Brendan playing full forward then we are limited in the air in midfield (Ware comes to mind here...but he's gone).

Best of luck to Shane Murphy in what is a big game for him but there is no doubt he has the talent - very capable.

Wins for Carlow Offaly Limerick and a good London team to beat Tipp.

Ceatharlach Abu.

A win to morrow would be a great result no doubt,I'll be happy should we come out wit a draw. In the other games I fancy Limerick to over come Waterford, Clare to beat Offaly and London to account for Tipperary.

Well done 'Dual Supporter' your predictions above from last Thursday were spot-on. You must be very close to the team/mentors.
I wish the entire panel all the best for tomorrow. Unfortunatley I cant be there but will be listening on the net in London. Good to see Mernagh holding his place - hasnt put a foot wrong yet.

With Ledger, Lawler and Gannon expected to be in starting 15 shortly it keeps all 14 outfield players on their toes ... a big change from previous years.

Hoping for a Good Carlow victory and it will set us up nicely for the trip to Limerick next week . . . . . . I will definitely be there for that one.
