I thinks its very fitting that MLR will represent Carlow in the Leinster club hurling Championship this year after getting Carlow Hurling back up to this level!

In fairness, was there anyone realistically expecting them to win to, no buzz in the build up to the game, no post here ie no apparant interest etc, etc.

Another hurler on the ditch! Rangers gave the Offaly Champs a mighty game and there was nothing between the sides. Awful day to hurl and both sides gave it their all.

Naomh Eoin have won Leinster senior championship matches. Beating Wicklow and Louth champions spring to mind.

go check the records a carlow club has ever only won one senior club match in the history of the competition instead of coming on here not knowing your facts and making it up

Myshall have beaten wicklow, Meath, Kildare, Westmeath, Longford, Louth came very close against Laois, Offaly, Dublin and kilkenny all since the early 90s. Only lost to a so called weaker county once that was Meath.

Knockbridge, Kiltegan, Wolftones, Castlepollard, Trim, Celbridge. Now get your facts right or dont bother posting. You are way off the mark.

Milford I have a different response to today's game. I am proud of the Rangers and their performance. I for one am not interested in what Myshall or any other club have done in the past in the Leinster senior club hurling championship. I am interested in what Rangers did today. Yes they came up short and the team itself will be the first to acknowledge their short comings.
The team gave their all as did the Offaly champions and what dreadful weather conditions were ther for the second half!
The team deserves praise and not this armchair quip that a Carlow club has not won a championship game.

As I watched the game today I was wondering about the hours and weeks and in fact years that the Rangers have put in to getting to todays stage. It is staggering what they have achieved. They are to be congratulated- yes even in defeat.

Thats a fair point I agree totally with you, but I think they are just a small bit off that standard and would have needed all the luck going there way to pull it off.

St. Mullins beat Lough Lene Gaels of Westmeath and O'Tooles of Dublin on the way to the semi finals of the Leinster club championship in 2002.

the day wasn't great for hurling but this is a young K/K side and will be a force in offaly for years to come some good underage players on
the way up. if not this year but in the next few years K/K could win leinster or more they have nothing to lose now

Firstly may i say the best team won in kk on the day. Its my opinion that a betterday would have favoured mlr. I thought they were a better hurling team but couldnt bypass a resolute defense especially in the second half when kk brought extra bodies deep. 5 pts was harsh but thats the joys of it. They continue to set the bar for carlow hurling and you d have to salute that. They dont believe in moral victories and i think as a county we are changing that too in our hurling. As for kk, i actually think they wont win the semi. They are solely reliant on one man in ciaran slevin. Apart from 2 other shots on target, one a score from gorman and the other a wide from leonard, he had every shot at the target, score or wide. But well done to them on their win. And the ending of their long county wait.

Old yellar stop making excuses, KK wer by far the better team and rangers got brought back down to earth .

Old Yellar is right, there was nothing between the teams and Rangers had 2 great goal chances before KK got their very sloppy goal. Also the The Referee was very hard on Rangers and gave all 50-50 decisions to KK.
And Saying Rangers got brought back down to earth is a cheap comment from a so called Carlow Man, their players are always down to earth and thats why they are so successful, they treat every game with caution unlike some other teams who go about winning chships every year before a ball is hit!!

Thereferee, why would you bother coming on saying these things if you were an actual carlow gaa supporter? I m not an mlr man but it filled me with pride to see them win an all ireland. They were beaten by 5 pts, hardly coming down to earth. We ve a lot of negativity in the county and begrudery is alive and well. They continue to set high standatds and i feel clubs like my own are rising to the challenge which will inturn raise the standard of hurling at county level.
