well done to rangers on a great comeback but in fairness the ballyragget team who won the junior would more than likely beat them. carlow hurling is on an up but there is still a huge gap between carlow and top tier hurling. the fact that our senior champions had to compete in the intermediate championship is a joke

hardy i agree wholeheartedly. but it is the gaa that deemed our senior champs not good enough, not our county board. so that is put to bed now as our senior champs will play in senior club next year. secondly ballragget did beat the rangers in a challenge.. but rangers also beat coolderry who play in the senior final... no point coming on here trying to stir it unless you know the facts. its laughable!

Well said Old Yeller, MLR have won 4 of the last 7 Kilkenny Junior Hurling leagues mainly without their county players (half their team) and Ballyragget have never won it with their full team.

Here are the facts this year Rangers won the following.
1) Carlow League.
2) Kilkenny League.
3) Carlow Senior Hurling Championship.
4) Leinster Intermediate Hurling Championship (Beating Danesfort The Kilkenny Intermediate champions along the way.
5) All Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship.

So now the net picking starts as people try to knit pick against there achievments. well let me add my point there is no knit picking the facts are there. they beat excellent teams along the way and are a super hurling club, with super dedicated players and some really great leaders. we can compare against teams young and old but whats the point, there achievements speak for thereselves.

So i think everyone should hold there hand up and admit this is a superb team, one that inspires and leads.
As i heard a rangers player say to me one day when asked why are they so good he replied ''for to long we were doing hurling the wexford way go down and play challenge matches and if ya were beaten them get broke up, when really we had the roll models on our other side Kilkenny, so we started studing them, following there ways & we learned to play faster hurling, be more clever and hence why we are here today.

I dont understand posters on this site so knocking the rangers why not just enjoy what they have done for carlow hurling.

Well Said OKI. Totally agree with you. We should be chanting these guys names off the rooftops putting there posters up in the shops around the county. These players should be given the freedom of carlow. Carlow county council should come together and give each squad member a free house each, there is enough of these free houses lien idel around the county, on a plus side then people would probably snap up the houses beside them. This team done something amazing. Immortals forever.

Sportie... you are right!!! They are immortals! They have what very very few living or dead Gaels in Carlow have - an AI medal! That is a fact and I think their 'immortality' and story will grow in the telling over the next 60 years!
