Kerry v Clare

(Oldest Posts First)

Suppose they deserve an easier draw but hope they do themselves justice unlike the Munster final.....a limited team but honest and very fit...they do have some decent footballers....not sure how progress has gone since the Munster final....lets hope Kerry have an off day..

hey, bit of an odd request but can any person tell me the names of the 1992 Clare team's forwards that won the munster title (substitutes aswell). I can't find a squad list from then. Its an odd request but there's method to my madness. Cheers.

wishing ye all the best against the kingdom on satrday evening.just wondering if kerry had offered to play the game in ennis would the gaa have agreed?it would have made more sense.i can,t see more than 5000 at the game,if this crowd was in ennis it would give a great atmosphere, while in limerick that crowd will hardly be seen.

I was at the Munster Final and Clare played well, the scoreline flattered Cork IMO. Ye dominated around the middle which could be a worry for Cork down the line and created a few goal chances. In saying that though, I don't expect ye to go man-to-man like the last day.

Cant see anything other than a kerry win no disrespect lads. All the best who knows what can happen. If the kerry lads get complacent who knows what way it will turn out...

How did Clare beat Limerick because Limerick are far a better team
than Clare. The defeat last night will have set Clare football back a bit
They need new Management to be honest they havnt a clue when
it comes to tactics.

To be fair, Clare beat Limerick in the league as well this year, and I don't think there's a whole lot between Clare & Limerick. Tipp are probably a step above both teams.
And I think last year, Limerick had a good run in qualifiers only to also get hammered by Kerry in Croke park. It's probably a mental thing -had Clare been drawn with any of the other 3 -Tipperary, Kildare, Laois- they surely would have given a better game, but getting Kerry was really bad luck.

Hard to figure out why Clare were so awful on Saturday. They were well beaten by Cork in Munster final but at least they were competitive that day -and most people are tipping Cork to win the all-Ireland.
The gulf in class with Kerry was hugely evident and Clare were well beaten in every single position. (excluding goalkeeper possibly).

On a side note, I though Galvin was extremely lucky not to get a straight red. Had he not already been on a yellow, then I think the ref would have had no option but to give a straight red. If you compare his "tackle" to what Ritchie Hogan got the line for in Kilkenny match, he was extremely lucky.

Too many people got carried away when we reached the munster final. The reality is that the current Clare senior football team is extremely limited and only beat another Division 4 team to get to the final. Horribly exposed against both Kerry and Cork with alot of naivity on the management's part. How these lads put such a high level of commitment into playing with a team in the country's basement division and get a hammering off Kerry and/or Cork each year in Champship is beyond me. Would the KIB lads have made a difference either? Many of them played in the Munster Junior final against Kerry and were horribly exposed at that level. How do people expect them to make a difference at senior level then?
