Clare hurling

(Oldest Posts First)

Well I was delighted with the Clare performance on Sunday, we hurled very well it was like the Clare of old. We have absolutely no reason to fear Galway, keep Joe quite and we have a great chance this is no bad Calre team they have great spirit. Up De Banner

yea tis a pity they hurled so badly at the start, it looked like tipp were going to blow them away, but they really turned it around and nearly snatched it at the end. Bugler played some great stuff, what has happened to griffin an carmody tho??

the galway match will be a close 1 to call, hopefully home advantage will get us over the line.

clare did very well v. Tipp and were very unlucky not to get something from the game.
mike mc will have to sort out a game plan to stop joe canning. if the full back that played v. Tipp
is marking him, he'll get destroyed. i think galway will try to make space for canning by playing the half forward
line nearer midfield. clare should play alan markham as a sweeper and put someone else wing back.
best of luck to ye, hope it's a good, close game.

Clare played well & I think deserved something.Scoring 1-22 & still losing is hard to accept.Colin Ryan a great find.Pity hardly no Clare fans were there entertainment was very good.Clare hurling is not as bad as people thought & goin on past games I think Clare will beat Galway by 4-5 points.Only 1 player in Galway & thats Joe Canning.Ye will surpass what ye thought was going to be a disaster of a year.Im expecting a few suprises from ye yet.Best of luck.

RazorRed- Clare will NOT beat Galway and you can take that to the bank. I knew that KK would be close but clare are in transition and Tipp are not as good as they think they are. Clare have bottle and they will not die easy but it is just not their year this year. The clare lads won't make things easy for Galway but thats the great thing about this rivalry. They will tighten up the pitch a few yards etc. but I think it will be Galway by 5.

TribalCharlie I admire your point of view but I think Clare are battle hardened & wont get beaten easy in their own back yard as proved many a time.Joe Canning nearly beat KK on his own.Clare scored 1-22 on Tipp enough to win any game & I think Tipp have a good team but just didnt defend very well. Our back 6 can we as good as any but Sunday yes they were very very poor.Im glad you have faith in a fellow Tipp man to think ye will beat Clare by 5 but Clare's backline is as good as Tipps & probably if had Gerry Quinn we'd more than likely be playing ye in the qualifiers!!!I dont think Tipp are a complete team as yet but I reckon were getting there & need to play for 70mins & not 35mins.Thats our problem at the moment.Galway have far deeper than that but know who's were always proving wrong.best of luck & hope its a good game.

To be honost its hard to see Clare beating Galway, should be a cracker though pity Mike Mac can't bury the hatchet with Gerry Quinn And Nicky O Connell pity they are not big enough men to sort it out.

Clare will have to start BOC at full back absolutely no choice there. Need to start Johyn Conlan as well plenty of chances given to Tony Carmody & Griffin

Anyone know what time the Galway Clare match starts?
ps, If ye do narrow the pitch ye will be just making the sidelines a bit easier for Joe!
